i have a large bubbly tank and I have a couple of small problems I think I could address by having a couple of smaller bubble tanks that would be better to start my seedlings in. The first thing it would solve is I could get the lights much lower over the babies. The second thing I could start them in better suited fertilizer to grow through the first few weeks. The third thing which would be better is that I could go back to growing mixed sex seed and just throw the males away and not have to disturb the main tank.

There is a complete 6 X 31/2 inch net pot system lights, pump, tank and all being featured in Stealth Hydro (easily found by googling it). The pots would easily be moved to my big tank after they show sex. I think I would need two of them or maybe 3. Have any of you used this system and could give me a report?

You could save a lot if you made the system yourself. You could even use a bigger storage tote to cut down on having to need 2-3. Storage tote, net pots, air pump and stones, and air line. Basic DWC system. That one your looking at on stealth hydro is bubbleponics same as DWC but it has a water pump and feeder tubes that goes to each net cup.

It looks pretty good and not terribly expensive, but like Jackal said, you could build them yourself. You're a pretty handy guy.

Something like that would go nice under the GLH.

The plexiglass piece is about $30 by itself and is one true pain in the ass to cut. The bottom drain is hard to get into a wooden box and liner without leaking. I thought the plastic box with drain would be a lot of work saved also. Thanks for your ideas Muddy and Jackal.

I have a system almost identical to that except it is strictly DWC . Costs were :

tote $7
net pots 50 cents each
air stones $3 apiece x 2
air pump $14
air line and smaller parts $5
drain spout (food grade) $3.50

Pretty much you are paying someone to put the set up together for you .

Hey thanks for the crappy review of stealth. Maybe I will just make my own wooden box and line it to be water proof . I can order some plexiglass but I just hate cuttind the holes. One guy in our Local Breeders Club just uses a poly storage crate like you get at Walmarts reinforces at the tob edge with some wood to keep its shape and it works very well. I will go over and look at his. I was just hoping for the easy way out this time. Have you looked at the local ones. What do they use for the tank part to hold up the top?

I know where I am there's a bunch of local sellers on CraigsList, who put together a very similar setup for about half of what that company is charging. There are also numerous eBay sellers too. It's not like that company is using top-grade materials. That tote they are using is just the crappy Sterilite rand. They tend to crack easily & the sides have been know to bow/flex way too much for my tastes.

Sterilite does make some decent totes, but it's their line of 'Ultra' totes that are decent - not the crappy ones used by that StealthHydro company

What did you use for the top to hold the pots and what did that cost you? I just want a bubbly tank no individual pot feeds or anything like that.
