Lighting Archiweedies upgrades a Mars II 400 w/ autocobs!!

I'll be honest, the only real difference I can see (mind you, I've only seen photos of the inside of the 300) it looks to be completed very similar to this.

Here's all you do, first you unplug the light and crack it open to see what drivers and how many you have. Then you snap some photos of the drivers and internals, tag @BigSm0, and he can instruct you on how many you can stuff in there. Then you just grab your COBs and follow the guide!

I just did the same conversion. The driver can run more cobs but I did 2 50 volt citizen 1812's in there. It's best not to push these things to full capacity.

Super simple upgrade. I threw away the LED board and mounted the cobs directly to the heatsink, wired it and put it back together.

Nice Cornell584! Your gonna rock this. You really can't go wrong for the price because even if the driver fails on you later down the road, you gain the experience to essentially build your own light with just parts. A little studying up and I would be able to purchase my own drivers based on the number of cobs I need to drive. Then, just like here, you mount the cob to a driver and drive it! Building a rack for it could be a different story.

Or there is the almost complete cobs Sm0 sells. Just add drivers!

Alrighty guys so I opened up my old mars hydro 300w looking to convert to cobs with all this help what could go wrong right lol I'm thinking i may need a new driver or 2 as a small portion of the panel is out... Took maybe 10 mins to pop her open so I guess I'm off to a good start [emoji41] @BigSmO can we save this light with a few cobs??

Im sorry I didn't see this till just now. What exactly do the drivers say on them. I think they are going to run one cob each based on memory. If you want to buy a new driver I would just put the light back together and build from scratch. The beauty of the conversions is the cost. drivers, heatsink and cobs. If your buying 2 of 3 new its not really worth it.

This light is screaming for 4 cobs in it!!
