Im in day 73 (white Russian auto) in soil and dealing with fungus gnats :Grrr:, would it be safe to apply to the soil by spraying (1 part sm90 to 5 parts water)at this stage in growth while im flushing? Also does sm90 work well enough on its own against fungus gnat larvae in soil from anyones experiences? All input is greatfully appreciated !thanks in advance ! :peace: :Hookah:

My hermit crabs have a fungus gnat problem- if you cover the soil with sand and let the sand dry out on top the adults will no longer lay eggs in it. Also putting a small layer of real cinnamon powder in between the medium and sand will help kill the larva's food source. That just how I deal with it keeping it organic.

No other takers on these matters ??? Lol :Sharing One:

I use sm-90 with every watering, 1ml per gal. All it really is is a wetting agent... Will help with gnats but not completely... At this point being so close to harvest you can nuke them bastards when your getting ready to flush with some h202.... You should also not start any more plants etc till you clean your grow area very well and get rid of whatever medium your using and start fresh.... I've dealt with gnats for way to long... Finally got through a harvest without a single one! I also amend my medium with mosquito dunks crumbled up in the soil, approx a 1/4 of a donut to pot of soil/coco etc... Good luck with those a holes! More of a nuisance than anything else
:Sharing One: and no the sm-90 won't hurt nothing at this point just don't spray the plants with anything now they are flowering

Hey calabria, I wish I had an answer about you gnats but I'm growing in hydro. I will say however that I use SM-90 in hydro constantly and use it as a folial spray at any time during the grow. I don't know if it will solve your problem but it won't harm anything. I believe the SM-90 bottle instructs you on how much to apply. You may want to ask about you issue in the Live Help thread. :goodluck:

Cal'- brother Yoda called it-- this is strictly a wetting agent/water spreader, a non-ionic surfactant that takes the surface tension out of the water/soln. you're treating with,..essential for foliar,... what it's doing to the gnats is allowing the water to penetrate into their bodies more readily, drowning them,.. it has zero true pesticidal properties,... you need something like mosquito dunks, or a liquid suspension of a bacterium call bacillus thuringiensis,... lots of product choices out there for this; it gets ingested, and ruins their guts!.. harmless to nearly everything else...

Yoda , Jack , Waira & necrow thanks very much for clarifying things and for all the words of sm90 Ganja wisdom ! I shall take this info and implement it in my current & future growing ventures ! Always greatly appreciated ! Never ever have I been let down by my fellow AFN enthusiasts ! You all have a great holiday weekend filled with thick billows of ganja smoke or vapour ! One love ! :peace: :Sharing One:
