Thanks TomFoolery, I am constantly reading the forums and learning a great deal from you all. I have been thinking of getting a 400W HPS in my grow tent and taking out the 300W CFL. Do you think the 400W would be good enough by itself in my 2' by 4' grow tent?

I would love everyone's thoughts on changing the grow light and whether a 400W HPS would be sufficient for my 2' by 4' grow tent?
I know it's all about patience, was just worried that the ladies were behind on schedule as I keep reading the auto's have a set lifespan according to their genetics. What are you thoughts on this everyone?

I would say that you'll have some real heat issues putting a 400w HPS in a 2' x 4' tent.
I've had a 250w hps in a 2' x 5' cab and it got hot, (although my reflecter wasnt an air cooled hood or anyhting)

I'd recommend looking into a decent LED to keep the heat down, the electric bill low and the bud production high

Thank you so much for input, I really appreciate it! So in your experience what type of LED light would give me a good canopy coverage for my 2' x 4' tent? Also, how have you found it using CFL's? Do you think my lighting is at least decent? I'm really happy with the way things have been going with my first grow but am concerned that for flowering I am not getting the required lumens across the canopy due to the scrog.

I'm biased, but very happy with my light

I'd recommend waiting on Grownorthern to get their new light out - Mines an MS0006 and it's perfect for the 60cm x 60cm i need. In fact it may even be a "little" overkill .. but i'd rather have too much than too little

I found CFLs okay - I had a similar setup to you when i started - large cfls and small cab. They were okay. I had some heat issues but that was mainly due to my small cab and not enough air exchange. I got a bigger cab and went hps for a couple of years and struggled more than i was with CFLS, my problem was getting the light close enough.

I'm completely sold on LEDs after 3 or 4 grows with them. Personally i get a better environment, more light, less electricity usages and better looking and yeilding plants than i was before.

Yeah sure - CFLs aren't to be sniffed at, you can grow some fine plants with them!

You'll want to get your cfls close - like as close as you can without burning them (a few inches if possible)
That's also where LED wins for me - "penetration" (oooh) even my bottom buds dont usually go airy fairy on me

Thanks for the great feedback Blue! I think I'll stick with the CFL's for this grow and make the change to LED for the next one. This way I learn a lot from the grow and get an idea of the potential yield from my current setup and strain.

Hey everyone,

Please please give me some feedback here as I'm starting to worry these buds are just not growing any more! If you look at the first pic using my fingure to show the size of this bud, compared to the second pic which is now a week later and there doesn't seem to be any growth man!??

I have also attached some other pics just to show you the bigger picture.
Apart from my basic nutes, for the last 2 weeks I have adding a Cal/Mag as well as Canna Boost to my feeding. I expected this to have a far greater effect on the ladies??!

I am now at Day 69, please let me know if I should be expecting larger growth in the next 3-4 weeks. I don't mind waiting for them to finish and am not in a rush but it just looks like growth has halted!?
