New Grower Autoflowering @ F1 on photo/auto cross

Males need to be taller and faster than the females, or the specie would not be perpetuated.

so thats why they starts too flower under 24 light? oke good you sey so i have learn something new:rolleyes:

peace

@MR. Wiz I think a more imported question is not whether you some times may see a very tiny amount of auto-flowering in the F1 generation, but how many genes govern the auto-flowering trait.

There is a way to determine the number of genes governing a sigil trait, for a recessive trait using a repeating backcross.
The question is how many backcrosses in a row can you do and the auto-flowering trait still shows up in the F2 generation from the backcross.

We need to know number backcrosses it takes for the auto-flowering trait to disperse.

We will gets two things form this knowledge.
  1. A very good idea of the number of genes governing the auto-flowering trait.
  2. How many backcrosses in a row can be dun and still recover the auto-flowering trait in high enough numbers to allow breeding.
Calculating a Prediction using 25% auto-flowering in the F2 generation, as a starting point. With a ½ N lost at each backcross.
F2’=========== 25%
F2’s from a Bx1 = 12.5% auto-flowering
F2’s from a Bx2 = 06.2% auto-flowering
F2’s from a Bx3 = 03.1% auto-flowering
F2’s from a Bx4 = 01.5% auto-flowering
F2’s from a Bx5 = 00.7% auto-flowering

Many strains will flower @ 24hrs which are not auto. Males more than females. But will they completely flower is the question...........

That is the question, are you talking about pre-flowers or fully flowering?

yes that is the question...is a preflower a flower, or is it just a pre flower. I have seen the whole gambit of pre flowers to full flowers... Some act like preflowers covering the whole plant, stuck in no mans land.. Others will go into full flower. Some will remain veg-able with continue-ing pre flower... But I speak of female plants only...males dont pre flower IMO they just flower or not. Once I see a flower on a male there is no turning back.

It does remove the option of breeding the offspring back to the original plant as the pollen could be stored from the photo. do you think the ir would be any need of the original photo pollen or do you think it would be better to store the auto pollen for rebreeding?

It is much easyer to keep a bag of pollen from your non auto in the freezer and use that for your bx, but I was taught (although this could also be untrue) that by cloning your non auto (using a female) & bxing to that your going to have a much more stable line (stable as in phenotype/traits) and your final auto is going to resemble your non auto alot more

There are really three main things that I want and could you address all three with your replie.

I want the photo X auto cross to auto reliably ie. better than 90%

I want the cross to have most of the traits of the photo and not the auto where possible. Especially in regard to flavor, smell and stone.

I want the new auto cross to exhibit very few phenos and be stable.

I am assuming that the photo is the male.

Would I better off in F2 to: a.) Breed it back to the male pollen of the original breeding.
b.) Breed together the off-spring male and female that autoed from F1
c.) Breed it back to the female type of the original breeding with a male that autoed from the F1 breeding
d.) Breed it back to a different auto with a male that autoed from the F1 breeding.

wow alot to take in but well worth it..planning on doing a photo to auto also but my male will be auto as thats all I have so Ill see whats up with that..assuming my pollen will still be viable when I get this started in the next month or 2. So far its still good a year later..so hoping it can hold on for me a lil bit longer..then let the madness begin.

What two are you gonna be using? Good luck with it. I'm pullin for ya.

Nelson, breed for potency... the rest will happen on its own. If you dont you may end up with a highless strain...
