Did you get the fabric xl pots or the plastic? I got the discs with my 4pot plastic system and with the extra plastic pots I ordered. Would imagine with fabric pots just a disk at the bottom would allow roots to still go sideways and breach the fabric while a sock would go up the sides a bit preventing roots getting into the valve.

You make a good point. I have the spring pots.

You are correct hon. The plastic pot systems come with copper disks, and the spring pot (cloth bag) systems come with the copper pot socks.
I had the plastic system for years and just updated to the spring pot cloth bags with the new aquavalve 5 and it came with pot socks. At least this blonde doesnt have to worry about where to put the socks!

Yes, and...no, it seems to work either way...either the roots stay away from the copper if it's facing in ( seems about 1/2") or they stop when they duck under the edge when facing down...
edit:...3 grows on auto pots, still same copper discs, haven't had any root push through even though after the first grow there really wasn't much "copper" look left.......

I love my auto pots....running 6 in my 3 x 5 with 6 pots on standby. trying to get the right strain, the right amount of seeds so I can just do a round robin of 6 in the trays with 6 in pots about a month or month and a half behind to be ready to drop in place when first batch comes out.

Do you run the backup 6 in autopot trays.. or saucers?

No, since the 1st part is hand water, I'll just have them in runoff trays.......hoping to have then ready for the res by the time the others are ready to come down...so far, leaning towards Mephisto 3 BOG strains and Sour Stomper......the 6 I have going are near finished in about 2 .25 months....but I signed up for testers so got to run those before I can try a seed run on the Meph.
edit:... as big as these got, I may have to drop down to 4 trays.

Hey guys.. another question.. is this correct placement of the aquavalve?

Directions state " connect aquavalve so half moon locates on the T section in the tray". The assembly won't sit down on the t.. I can only imagine it's like this so it sits level?

The half moon of the valve sits over that T part, you have to give it a goodly lil push down so it snugs in....think it keeps the bottom of the valve off the bottom of the tray so the liquid can flow out when it activates..
