Nutrients Biotabs Starter Kit in the house!

Verdict is still out on the final outcome but it feels like I'm doing nothing! I am still trying to figure out the watering using two different grow mediums that don't have the same waster retention ratio. This is my first go with Biobizz but it seems to hold moisture way longer than the Roots Organics. I wanted to sort some things out for the future and I'm am getting lots of info in that respect.

WASTER retention ratio mate? My first wife had a very low waster retention ratio!!! Hahahaha :jointman: :vibe:

Yeah it's gonna take me a bit of dialling in as well mate. My biotabs plants were way healthier, smellier and nicer than my chem nutes girls, but my yield was generally down. I suspect maybe something to do with me giving very little water and that combined with the nature of the tabs maybe? So next go I am gonna change up the watering a bit. I'm also gonna try a couple of other additives maybe, like Green Planet Dense (@A-Train thanks for that tip Sir, not that you know you tipped me lol!). I think I also need to work out exactly which biotabs supplements to give them at what stage. Well happy for my first attempt with organics though!

I also think the biobizz retains water. Even with direct heat under my airpots it still takes a while to dry out. I would quite like to try a mix of biobizz and coco but then I think PH becomes an issue and I can't be arsed with that! Biotabs sorts that for me! :pighug:

Haha! Oh my Waster retention, does sound a bit ominous! I am having a blast with this stuff! I actually thought my Biotabs plants would be larger but that's not really the case. At harvest time the truth will be told, can't wait! :d5:

Yeah with the Biotabs, it is a bit of a new learning curve, but if you pay good attention. In 2 grows you can be at the same skill level/ yields as you were with the chem nutes.

I am already getting better results, with the Biotabs.
Then back in the dirty concentraded chem nut days.
Have to say am growing with biotabs 6 years already.

Concentraded chem nutes, is a thing from the past.
Life bacteria and microorganisms, for the (best) future!

Mix you soil like 50% soil, 50% perlite
This way your soil medium, will not stay as wet, and has the opportunity to dry faster.

Like Sir Biotabs says above mate, it's our first runs with tabs, so there's bound to be a period of learning. I'm more than happy with my first attempt with them as the quality was definitely up. Just need to work on the yield next.

The more I read about organics the happier I am. It's so much more natural than forcing chems into the soil. Green Growing in more ways than one!! :pass:

I was reading about perlite mixes yesterday mate. The only problem I see with doing a 50/50 mix is you're effectively loosing half your volume of soil? Only 5 litres of "soil" / growing medium for the beneficial beasts to inhabit instead of 10 litres.

What are your thoughts mate?

Oh my this is great information, @hippy71 @Biotabs F69 My space requires me to use smaller pots so I have to produce the most efficient grow methods in order to achieve good yields. My first grow I used 3 gal pots and the plants stayed small but I thought it was a decent yield for the first time. This grow started out to be 6, 2 gal pots but grew to 10 b/c I thought I had some that wouldn't make it - bad decision on my part, all, part of the learning curve. In the future I will run 6 ONLY and they will be in 2 gal pots due to my space constrains. I don't know anything about chem nutes and am happy to just use Organic because I'm convinced it is more healthy, besides flushing a plant for 2 weeks seems ridiculous! My goal is to get 2 oz.(dry) off each plant in my current setup. Thanks to good advice I'm getting here on AFN I am encouraged that I can pull it off! Cheers!

Chem nutes suck mate. The more I read the more I see it's just the wrong way to go about feeding plants. Totally unnatural. Organics is definitely the way to go imo.

I reckon you will reach your goal for this grow mate. And that would be a bloody good result! :pass:

I gotta go to town now. Must remember to concentrate as yesterday was pretty stressed and drove straight through the entry barrier at the car park!!!! Lol :crying:
