New Grower Blue Mystic First Grow

your right.thats why I pushed for a tea early on lol.

I get the feeling her soil life is lacking or imbalanced, sorry eyes, haven't had time to keep up with afn last week or so. Agree on tea of course lol. Curls, you can set up a tea brewer cheap...do it,well worth it, you'll see lol, it's the best investment you can make if you wanna do organic well imo. Feed your soil and your soil will feed your plants.

Correct me if I'm wrong (eyes) but I think you have some N def Curls.

I gave big sis a quick tea Turkey Day Eve. It was frass, molasses and a smidge of fishey grow for some N.

I've grown a lot of Blue Mystics ... I think you're 3-4+ weeks from harvest ... JMHO ... :pass:

Hi Chester, thanks for stopping by. Did your blue mystic turn colors? Some of her buds are turning a deep red/purple and I'm not sure if this is the "blue" coming out or if it's something else.

Hi Vas, I broke down and ordered a bubbler.

Big sis is 52 days old. She's lost quite a few fan leaves as you can see and the remaining ones still look awful. I think the buds are getting bigger. Her perfume is getting stronger and trichomes are easy to see without magnification. I've noticed a few have turned amber, but most are milky maybe a few clear.

Anyways, I think she'll be ready for another watering in about 4 days or so which will put her around day 56ish. Hopefully I'll have my bubbler by then. Any suggestions on what I should brew up for her this time? Any suggestions on how to use it? Should I use the stone or just submerge the hose? Do I have to use a bag of some sort now for dry tea additives? If yes, what can I use that will have big enough holes for the microbes to pass through?

Peace.

Hey Curls, no need to break down LOL ! OK well eyes is the tea master , he has threads on here you should check out and he is far more knowledgable & articulate than me LOL, but with that disclaimer.. Compost Tea , the staple tea in my book. The most important ingredient is GOOD compost. It has beneficial bacteria, nematodes etc that you want in your soil. so we bubble it up to aerate the water to promote and proliferate the benefical aerobic bacteria. I use a stocking, the holes are big enough for the bacteria & nematodes to slip through into the tea and small enough to stop the crap that will block up your watering can / sprayer. You want big rolling bubbles, to agitate the microbes out of the compost and into the tea and provide adequate aeration to promote aerobic dominance. Stones create microscopic bulbbles that have been shown the cut up microbes ! so just the hose i guess or a multi head. You add a food source for the crobes, like molasses (unsulphured) and they'll multiply over 24-48 hours. somwtimes I add some kelp meal, azomite / or organic fertilzer fines powder. I bubble for 24-36 hrs and both soil drench and foliar spray feed. :-) Get some earthworms for your pots too and keep buliding your soil. Organic soil takes time to build.

I don't do indoor so I can;t advise on feeding, but she needs N as well as K for flowering if you want her to finish well. so you're gonna have to to do something like maybe apply a highly available N feed and sh'e be due for K soon too so maybe look at having a highly available form of K to give her too. you can rehabilitate soil with compost teas after, then add worms and build real living "organic" soil.

Looking good Curls those buds are lovely, how many watts/bulbs are you running?

do you have a jewlers loupe? you really should get a ten dollar metal one. or anyone you like and can afford.theyre cheap and VERy necessary.especially right now so you know exactly where your meds are at.. unless you live in a region where you can grab a densely organic compost from the forest floor or similar ,id really look at getting a bag of cow and/or mushroom compost.both is best and all of 12 bucks for the two.2:1 is doable but a 3:1 or more is better.the mushroom provides a multitude of beneficial microbes other composts dont.and the cow provides the rest, along with some EWC BOOM! Then you tailor it to suit what you need.again guying the right things you can also use for teas as well as soil blending and reworking also. alfalfa and kelp meal and bone meal, need cake is good.all these things are cheap if you choose to look. also the liht stressing didnt help either.worked ofcourse just saying it lent slightly to her using more foods cuz f the stresses.next grow you'll have to do a cpl things but imo you'll be FAR more satisfied with how that grow will go.

:thanks: Thanks, Nug! I'm using six 23 watt. I used red spectrum all the way through because I didn't have anything else atm.

do you have a jewlers loupe?

Hi Eyes, yes I do have a loupe and I've been using it. And I completely agree that the LST stunned her. Mostly cloudy, but some clear and a few amber. I think she's still bulking up. I've been using the Alaska fishy bloom and a small amount of fishy grow along with some frass and molasses to water. I noticed the fishy bloom isn't listed organic and I see a lot of mixed stuff online. Will I need to flush my plant because I used this or will I be okay?

I also bought a bubbler so now I can make a properly aerated tea. I also bought some oyster shell flour. I cut a few fluffernuggens off the bottom branches last night to test. They are still drying. So I'm thinking that big sis maybe ready to chop by end of next week, but I'm not in a hurry so I'll keep watching until it seems she's stopped flowering and the triches are mostly cloudy with some amber.

Little sis is almost a month old. She's starting to get yellow leaves on the bottom. Big sis did the same thing early on so I gave little sis some Epsom salt and scratched in some oyster shell flour. I've already given her some fishy grow 5-1-1. I'm going to keep a close eye on her and maybe up the feeding to 1/2 strength 5-1-1 fishy grow next time I give her tea.

So now I'll be looking for some tea recipes. This is what I have in my toy box: EWC, seabird guano, frass 2-2-2, Alaska fishy grow 5-1-1, Alaska fishy bloom 0-10-10, molasses, Epsom salt, liquid kelp and an air pump. :smoking:

I may buy some kelp meal and/or alfalfa meal in the next few weeks. I now want to either use what I have to mix a soil for future use. I need to decide if I can do something worthwhile with what I have or if I should just buy a pre-mixed soil next time. Any input would be helpful. In addition to above I also have tomato tone for a granular additive, but I'm not sure if this is even worth trying to use for cannabis. I have time to let soil sit for at least a month probably two.

Peace.
