Harvest & Curing Boveda 62%

Herb Preserve

These imho are next to nothing for storage.C vaults are outstanding, but being in my cured stash literally all day.I want a tinted, sealed container thats a one step motion if ya will over three or more clasps.but between the two..?pffft damn!!Ya got some slammin herbs for years LMAO!!62's n all.yup ya cant lose..And typically if you got a 7 day dry out of it and the stems did NOT snap you should only have to burp it a couple times are three and let it ride and cracking it open one every cpl of weeks er so.couple three months goes by BOOM stinky sweet!keep em in the same jar or whatever as well since that'l lessen the aeromatics n the like.so maintain that.

Growing is great..grow them monsters man..but if ya dont know how to cure..yer screwed and all that hard work and fun is gonna come crashing down..Lets not let that happen.I use vaults for initial cure for 2 months then move to a long term storage jar for smellin..LOL!:roflcry:

trim..?yeah dry it out n sift it,grind n cook it.prolly the best for you n I man.But heck we've all smoked it.so you could essentially store it and keep it once its dry and re stored with boveda and it'll smoke a lil better n smoother if ya need something to smoke n got patience.but..lol.

:rofl:That avatar is pretty damn disgusting, pop. Pretty damn disgusting, indeed! :roflcry:

That is good to know ... I would mark that hygrometer w/ an 'X' or something ... remember 55% is the rh that we have to avoid letting the weed drop below ... now that you know your Hygrometer how's the rh of the buds ... ?
The rh is 65! I think that is good right?

Yes, 65% is OK. Is that your meter showing, or your estimate against meter readings?

I have never used Boveda, but I think you did not put enough stuff inside to react with all excessive moisture in 24 hours. Buds keep a lot of moisture after a week or so and it does not go out just easily. Besides, it is costly to dry with Boveda, youd better dry buds on open air and put Boveda inside when RH is something around you want to keep. If you need it at all.

I use Caliber IV and it is very, very precise. I do not believe there is something wrong with your meter.

I start to cure at 68 and go down quite quickly, because 68% is still dangerous zone for mold/mildew. And turn jars frequently and do not let buds stick together and
stay so. In winter, when air around is mostly dry, I use 65%. Now, in summer, when there is 70% around in this very moment, I keep them at 62, because there is not much drying when opening jars. Of course I do not open these jars when 70% around.

For long time storage, RH should be lower and for smoking, something around 60% is just fine. But if you go so low, you might let your jar open accidentally sometime in the future for too long and it might go out of desired numbers.

It's 65 with the adjusted reading on the meter. I don't have any boveda packs in with the bud right now...waiting until it reaches desired range...but humidity inn the drying area is 65 so it might not drop much unless I put the packs in. They do looks great and are smelling good...almost lost any hay small.

So you are sure that you have the right RH assesment and your meter is not OK?

65% is very high for drying, especially if remains so. It is good for first days, but later you should know that exchange of water is very slow anytime RHs inside and outside jars are very close. With 65 in the air, buds dry nice down to 75-80% and then it goes slower and slower.

I am always very carefull when RH around is more than 60%, because everything goes very, very slow and mold might be just around the corner.

In this period, buds do not smell as you would like them to, that comes later and mold is your biggest enemy, always just around the corner waiting for someone that screws something :help:
