Harvest & Curing Boveda 62%

Hmmm, not sure really.time is your best bet.but after the 2-4 week deal, you could use an oldschool trick.but you'd have to smoke said bud within a day er so cuz of molds. But you can take a few small pieces of apple and/or oranges a small piece of peel and take the boveda packs out and stick the fruit in a smaller seperate jar with just a little bit.and leave that over night and it lends to a small taste improvement.its been yrs. since ive done that but it works ok.but again,do small bits at a time cuz if stored for a few days you'll have moldy fuzzy buds man.:Sharing One:

I love the orange peel trick. I over dried some white widow a few grows ago so wrapped some orange peel up in paper towel, popped it in my jar until the humidity went into the high 60's, took it out, sealed the jar and it went down to low 60's.

Then I went online and bought some boveda packs and Iv not had a problem since:grin:

I have a question. Once the buds are jarred up with the Boveda packs what's the best temp to store it at for the cure to develop:dunno:

From all the comments and journals that I've read, I'd say that as long as you store them in a cool, dark place, you should be solid. BUT, I have no first hand experience...

Just ordered some small 62% bags, I'm shopping more than the wife today lol!

So heres a question.

Unfortunatley, some of my bud dried much quicker than i was hoping. 3 days in the box, and it felt ready for jars, so i poped 'em in with a couple 62's. RH seems to be holding around 63 - 64 %. Im happy with the number, and would normally feel comfortable curing at this stage. However, i didnt have to do any burping to get it there. I assume i should burp daily to let the gasses escape, but what about the packs? Should i be taking them out, and sealing them up when the lids are off to prevent trying to suck moisture from the whole room? Or am i being paranoid? Should i at least be replacing them every so often? And if so, how often?

I know these packs are supposed to make life easier, but i tend to over think shit way to much!

hiya opi, if you rh is at 63/63 leave the bovida in, seal the jar and put in a cool, dark place. No need to burp when you are that close. You should burp em about 1 time a month and that should be it. I overthink things too, not a bad thing!!!

Roger that good sir!

Thanks for the quick response. Sadly, after taking a taste test before jarring, I no longer think im going to be able to hold off for a whole month. God damn will it ever be worth it though!

Heh... Its my first time using these things.... just seems way to easy, like I was doing something wrong.

Your right opi, you over think that stuff. But I do too. *LOL* Don't worry, easy can be louisey too. I just made up that word but it sounds cool.

I've been using boveda paks to cure and store my bud for over a year, and I couldn't be happier with them (pun intended). Buds I grew over a year ago are just as fresh and potent as buds that I've only recently harvested and cured. Some weed I've stored for a year using boveda paks gets better and better due to the excellent storage environment created by the boveda paks.

Replace the boveda paks once the liquid in the paks becomes solid pebbles, kinda like small gravel. You'll know what I mean when your paks are no longer liquid. If you don't open your stash jar very often, then a boveda pak will last a year or longer. If you open your stash jar often, then the liquid will harden to small pebbles more quickly.

Actually I cure and store all of my buds in cvaults with boveda paks inserted into the lid of the cvault. Storing weed this way will keep it fresh indefinitely, just remember to use new boveda paks when needed.

Cheers :Sharing One:

I should add that dried weed that I hadn't stored in a cvault with a boveda pak or 2 came back to life within two weeks after being placed in a cvault with 2 boveda paks in the lid. The weed was like new!
