Hey tsn great thread by the way. I have come to you in search of advise as I hear u are the led expert on the site. I have a two by two ft grow area and I am currently using a ninty watt ufo led. I want to add more light. Would u recomend adding a second 90watt ufo or scrathing the 90 watt I have now and getting a 180 watt panel. Also do the 180 panels put out more heat then the ninty watts because I cant have alot of heat as I dont want to risk my getto tent giving off gasses. If you would use the two can u advise on how to position. Thank you for any wisdom you can provide. Also sorry for all the questions but do the blackstars come with a hanging system.

Most of the UFO 90W lights use a 1W led. You should look for something with 2W or 3W leds for better penetration. I use a 260W led in my 2 x 2 so you would most likely be better off looking in the 180w-260W range. The blackstar panel TSN uses would be a good choice for the budget minded for that area.

yes they come with a hanging system. my best advise is to scratch both options for a third..... why dont you spend the extra 40 and get a 240w over a 180w. keep the 90 and make a small area to veg seedlings to refill your other area?

haight has a new revision of their ppf-800 available now for 514 from greners.. new white is supposed to be more efficient than hps at producing lumens per watt

i would love to do that but i only have room for the one grow. plus i cant afford to upgrade my light above 90 without selling the 90 that i have. im going to take a loss on it but i will be selling to one of my friends. it sucks because i havent even finished my first grow yet and one out of the three metal hanging wires is already starting to fray. i only gave the 90 + 90 and 180 option because i wanted your opinion on whether two lights are better then one with the same watts. i was actually thinking of adding a 100 to my 90 or getting the 240 and selling the 90. so you think one strong light is better than two lights. do you have a take on the blackstar uv led series they are using 2w leds but i dont know if the uv is better or not. might have to apply some sunscreen haha
edit: where do you get your lights from. i am using amazon because they are highly reliable and there is an 80 dollar difference between the 180 and 240. the 180 is actually a little cheaper per watt?!?

just buy the 180 and sell the 90 then if thats your situation
