Mephisto Genetics Bubbasquanch....BioBizz and Megacrop.

Lets see how round two works, I failed after day 2 with BioBizz though I am not blaming the media, rather I think she had a virus and a bad pathogen infected her which could have come from the BioBizz....With that said I went to what always works, Ocean Forrest and Happy Frog. The pack of seeds really don't look good at all, in comparison to other Mephisto seeds, so I don't rule out the seedlings could have poor health and resistance to pathogens. I used Armory in the 1st and 2nd small waterings before the seed popped, building a population of beneficial bacteria to hopefully avoid a virus/pathogen that could mean quick death to a very vulnerable newborn seedling.

Day one of Life and Health, and I am a mommy again...

Day 6.....

This one is starting to look better, however terrible growth from my norm on day 6, normally the seedlings are further advanced. Also her tips were burnt, and you can see this on the day 1 image, I thought the plant was going to burn up like the previous one in the BioBizz lite mix. She didn't and seems to be hanging in there. I mentioned previously that the seeds were small and yellow, and obviously immature, certainly not the quality of seed I have received from Mephisto in the past, this probably shouldn't have been sold, now I love Mephisto Genetics and still highly recommend them, but the seeds in this bag failed whatever quality controls they hopefully have in place, we have created our own seeds in our photoperiod grows, and I would never have sent these out to a client. To Mephisto's credit they give you some nice freebies however I would prefer quality or quantity because if I am trying to grow out a mid-sized 50 plant grow on a time sched and have this issue it costs me time and money, that in some situations is critical.

Anyways, I will allow her to live, and we'll see what she does. My poor little baby.

Mine did the same thing but once she got her 2nd set of true leaves she took off. I'm growing in coco too so I'm not too sure how she got burnt but she's the only one that it happened to using the same nutrients and coco.

I'm curious about this. I'm assuming immature seeds means they were taken to soon. What would you expect a plant to be like if it came from am immature seed? I get there would be a lot of other variables involved including how immature is the seed and those variables could make for all kinds of things to happen. But is there some characteristics that one would expect to identify from a plant borne from an immature seed? Are they generally smaller for instance? or less potent? Or more prone to disease?

Day 8 of Life and Health....

She is showing slow growth however in this stage the energy of the plant is in root development, if you look closely you will see some leaf curl, this is ok, this is a symptom of the blurple LED in excess that she is receiving, not enough to burn but enough to cause a irritation, which is ok, as she is getting 18-20hrs of this light from a single led grow bulb, and these leaves will be of no consequence as the plant developes. Her latest growth is healthy. I continue to water with Armory, Recharge, NITRYX, and AZOS as we are building some diverse microbial life structures which give the soil structure which is key for the rhizosphere and nutrient uptake, with minimal if any synthetic nutrient feedings, rather relying on the biology in the soil, just as what happens in nature.

Now onto the immature seeds.... seeds such as this many times wont pop, as the life inside didn't form properly, and the ones that do pop are subject to pathogens in soil grows. You see in the soil are many microbes, and many are bad guys, we try and stock up if you will on the good guys to keep the bad guys in check. The bad guys thrive in water soaked low oxygen soil. A baby seedling even from a healthy seed is at risk, a immature seed often crashes, burns and fails which is what I believe happen to the first seedling, also even weak light can be harmful to a immature seed that pops, but they can still pop, and recover and produce. I don't have enough data to say they yield less, it does sound very plausible. Being stunted early in most cases will effect the end result, there are exceptions, my LSD-25 being one of them, that plant sucked as a seedling, it was the worst seedling I have grown until the 1st Bubbasquanch in this thread.

Bubbasquanch is an illuminauto, they are not Mephistos main strains rather they can be unstable, which is why they are cheaper, but for me in most cases funner to grow and enjoy some different pheno types.

Here is a image of the remaining seeds from the Bubbasquanch pack..

My image might make them appear better, but they are quite yellow and small, and don't look good at all next to my Double Grape seeds amongst others.

The 1st seed in this grow flat out failed, and trust me it isn't because I don't know how to grow a seedling, and unless somebody wants to jump in here and accuse BioBizz Lite of burning the plant then I really suspect the bean. Sometimes they die, don't grow, don't pop (which I am still 100% germ rate on Memphisto Genetics) so we shall see what happens with this 2nd seed which is off to a rather unimpressive start. Then again, I said the same exact thing about my Fast Buds LSD-25.

thanks for explaining the immature seed. A few of us have had issues with Sour Crack seeds not germing well at all. But they are not Illuminautos so they should be better quality. And yes I'd say your picture does make those beans look pretty good. I guess you'll never know what the cause was %100 but I can see how you came to that conclusion. It sure was freaky looking.

By the color of your medium and slow Growth, you are over watering. Pretty much the most common mistake and seed killer. Not saying this caused your issues, but you may want to add some airflow or back off the frequency or amounts of water. Good luck
