I have been working on this for some time now and am nearing a final version!!!

There will be a tutorial posted at a later date when i am happy with a version.
So far i have completed a ceramic resistor based vaporizer, pic below:

It has a glass heat tube and a stainless steel stem.
Can be left on 24/7 for that quick hit.
I will post some extraction pics a bit later.

This is what i am working on now and it rocks!

So last night i decide to rig a ceramic heater up to the new dimmer switches.
I used an old, modified enclosure that is used strictly for testing out new ideas.
It has been through a lot and does not look pretty at all!
I also tried to shorten it after the fact and my skew chisel dug in and ripped the top!
A new one will be made for the ceramic heater.

I also need to measure the heat zone of the heater to figure out dimensions of the enclosure.

Heat up time is about 2 minutes on a medium setting, less than a minute when you turn it to full and then down to an operating temp.
The element is housed in a glass tube and i have also used a glass tube as a stem.
The only metal in the airpath is a SS coil i made to hold the heater in place and two SS mesh screens.

Draw is unrestricted and taste and flovor are really good!
I could really taste the spicy craziness of the Jack Herer last night, very nice indeed!

We are away for the weekend so nothing will be done on this project, hoping to get a good start on it during the week!

Some pictures for thought!

And to go back to the resistor vape for a bit!
Here is a few pics of the extraction i can get from my unit.
I do not take it till it is completely spent as it makes me cough too much!

A nice light brown with only a few specs of green left.
That was enough to do me for over an hour.

Grow your own herb and reap the benefits from a home made vaporizer!!!
Welcome the LazyVape!!

If you have a need for testers I'd like to Volunteer ... nice looking Vape.

I am the chief tester in these parts!
Slaving over bowl after bowl is tiring business but someone has to seriously medicated while testing!!!

If there is a small demand i may end up making a few units for sale.
No promises though!!

Welcome to the LazyVape!

I welcome you to the debut of the LazyVape!!

Lately I have been working with ceramic heating elements instead of resistors.

This new thread will show you how I have made this very cool vaporizer.

A few facts about the vape:

* 30 second heat up time

* All glass air path, except for the ceramic heater

* Glass heat tube

* Glass stem

* Stainless steel screens

* 150 Watt in line rotary dimmer control

The ceramic heating element I am using is an 110V 60Watt heater.

It has more than enough power to combust herb if turned up too high.

The unit has a rapid heat up time and can be ready to use in around 45 seconds.
Using this method I turn the dial to Max and wait 30 seconds, the ceramic heater starts to glow red-hot. Once it starts to glow I turn it down to a temp that suits whatever is being vaped.

I have tried some wax in a bit of 100% pure cotton and it works really well!

I needed to up the temp a bit till the heater was just glowing lightly and then the wax really took off. Taste was great and clouds were nice and dense.

When using with dried material I will start at a lower temp to get all the flavor and taste first. The all glass air path and the ceramic heater make this vape a flavor beast!

The one thing I am really enjoying is moving the screen in the stem to different positions, you can case it in one draw or make the flavor last a long time by raising the screen a lot, very versatile!!

It is totally different to how I use all my other vapes and to how it tastes.

I think I saw it mentioned in the HI thread that to get the most out of the vape to use it like a trombone. Same deal with this one!

Stem goes between the lips and help in right hand, left hand brings vape up to stem and you start to draw. When the temp starts to rise remove from heat and continue drawing till cool. Repeat as required or till taste deteriorates.

I can go a long time with a small load.
Unfortunately my scale does not weigh less than 0,1gram
I think I load about a of a gram per stem, so 0,025grams.
Lost count at around 10 hits and then I needed to sit down for a while!

Anyway here are some pics!!

Updates to be done to this vape include changing it over to an ALL GLASS AIR PATH!!!!
It will consist of swapping out the heat tube for a new glass test tube that has not been modofied, then another larger test tube will go over the heat tube.
The larger test tube will have a small top portion removed and a few small holes drilled around the base for air flow.

This should improve the flavor a lot!

After a few days thinking and some help on another forum i think i have a winner!!

May i present the worlds FIRST GLASS AIR PATH LOG VAPE!!!
No other like it exists yet so that is pretty cool!

The modifications performed were:
1- Open up the core and line with Aluminum to concentrate more of the heat to the core and not the wood.
2- Cover the glass heat core tube with another test tube so that it has only glass in the air path.

The temps need to be turned up a bit more for good results but it can handle any kind of draw speed, as slow as you like to as hard and fast as you can.
The heater keeps up and keeps the vapour pumping!

Here are the pics of the new unit with the last ones being the most recent.
The last two pics show the new unit and the ABV herb after two pulls!

And the ABV after two hits!
The first one was whispy and very tasty, the second one hit me like a freight train!
Instantly medicated!

I will be trying it out and testing it this week to see if anything else needs to be changed.
The ABV above is some old, nasty Pineapple express that usually does not affect me too much.
Today it has made me feel no pain and everything is numb and tingly, very nice!
