Is there anyone out there with any actual experience dealing with the worst kind of spider mite?

Did your plants pull through or did they die?

what did you treat with?

was it on photo or auto?

etc etc...

i neeed to hear your story! im going through a nasty infestation with them now on my Photoperiod plants, outside, in approx 6th week of flowering and ive been treating with a Habanero/garlic/dish soap spray and they just dont seem to want to quit!!!

thanks all

Oh no, The Borg! I dealt with them all the time when I grew outdoors and had them decimate 6 out of 8 photo plants one year. They always hit once the buds start to get nice and fat. I always used insecticidal soap on them with good results. If you don't have a pump style sprayer you can pick up a gallon one at Lowes for about $10. They also carry the Safer brand of insecticidal soap. Spray them down good and repeat in about 4 days to get the ones that hatch out, then again in another 4 days. After that, weekly treatments should keep them in check. Don't worry about it getting on your buds. It's water soluble so a good rain, or spray with a garden hose will wash it away before harvest.

so you had them actually kill a few pants dead then? as in.. No harvest? at all! i do hope i can keep them in check for the next few weeks.

do you think there presence on the plants will affect yeild? like is the plant putting all its energy into fighting the little buggers instead of produceing bud? i do get the feeling my buds are a little small....

Yep. I had 8 plants in a remote location and hadn't checked them in about a week and a half. By the time I saw what was going on and treated them, the damage had been done. Based on my results in that spot in previous years I was expecting to harvest about 3/4 of a lb. per plant, or 6 pounds total. I ended up with 1 1/2 pounds, the Borg got the rest. I have no idea how much the plant fighting the infestation might have hampered bud development but I don't think it was much. They hit so fast there was little time for the plants to try and resist. Near total assimilation.

I have delt wuth them but never been able to fully get rid of them out doors befor just been able to control them so they dont end up killimg my plants. I use eco spray doesnt seem to effect my girls the least when used but I have never used it on them when there flowering
