New Grower Cannabis Club Smoke-Off - Need Suggestions & Advice

Curiosity more than anything. I am always looking for something to submit to my local breeders club in the auto section. I bred Super Cali Haze to itself and a lot of my friends are begging me for some seeds. They bred fairly true for the most part. You get the occasional short one maybe 1 in 10 that is way earlier than the rest. You get some tall ones say about 2 in 10 that are a little slower to auto and show buds. 7 out of 10 are fine examples of the breed. The tall and short phenos were about the same as what came from the seed reseler (dope-seeds) to start with.

Do you do any home breeding Buddha?

Just remember that our club is a home breeders club not just a growers club. We are a bunch that really promotes home breeding. We think we do a lot to further the cause of the genetic pool although experts try to tell us we are just messing it up. I like the comparison with dog breeding - Many best of show winners come from back yard breeders that are constantly adding new genes to the pool.

We have bred the cross Jean Guy X Chocolope which is very popular around here and I have personally bred Jack Herer and Bob Marley that I call BeeJay. BeeJay is a refular that buds up really quicly and to this date is the fastest regular I have ever seen. I harvest it around the 3rd week of August. I am expecting our club will breed something great in the autos before we are done.

Well that's as good a reason as any! :D Look forward to seeing how the cross turns out - keep us informed!

Got the first of my gib autos harvested the Super Cali Haze. I got three more to go. the first one yielded 3 1/2 ozs. Yeah good stuff and I am wicked happy. My best yield off of an auto to date.

Well done Nelson. I'm liking what I'm seeing from my SCHs as well. I have one from my first batch that probably would have yielded that much but it got hit hard by spider mites, so I lost a good bit of it, but still should get a couple ounces. My second batch is at 11 weeks and 3 of em are well over 5' tall in 10 gallon buckets. Staying on top of the mites with these girls.

I' heading down this afternoon to make up my mind which of the three SCH s is next to harvest. It takes me about a week to harvest the whole plant cause I hate clipping and I have this thing that I really like to clip en while their fresh and the leaves are sticking out. I hate clipping when they are wicked wilty. Someone I know turned in their SCH cause it was too strong for them and took Mi5 cause it was a lot milder they said. My wife and I agree the Super Cali Haze kicks ass. After growing 3 Hazes and being kind of lukewarm on them, I have been wicked impresses by the Cali Haze. It is stronger than G13 Haze by a mile, stronger than Arden's haze by a factor of 2 and just a little more punch than Silver Haze. I got a couple main buds that are easily an ounce each wow. They are aloready twice as thick as a horse dick and just as long.

The other problem is that the BeeJay's are coming in within the next two weeks and I will have to do even more clipping.

Speaking of photo types I got a Medusa (from Nirvana) out there that has 40 tops just starting to bud. It is only about 5 feet high with a stock about 4 inches in diameter. I may have to cut her down with a chain saw. She is supporting hersalf very well but the [lant is about 6 feet in diameter. It is the biggest pot plant I have ever grown. What will that yield I wonder and what will the pot be like. Any of you all grown this thing yet? It is definately going to surpass my former biggest plant which was a toss up between Ice and BC Big Bud. I hope the pot is better than those two.

Well it is only two weeks from our Fall smoke off at our local Breeder's Club. Traditionaly it is held on the Sunday after Caqnadian Thanksgiving.

This year we have two new members to be voted in befor they can join. Each needs a sponser and a seconder to get up for vote. any member can object and veto there entry. That is tighter than the Masons. The new members won't be able to submit this year to the smoke offs and won't vote untill next year.

If they make it in they will bring our bunch to 14.

We have a new testing procedure this year. If you submit an entrant to one of the classes you have to supply 12 joints (one per voting member). We are giving out score cards. The members take the joints home and smoke one a day and fill in there score card with a number to rate the pots and can leave comments. We have an award day wher e we tally the results.

We are the only smoke off that we know off where there is a seperate auto section. You can all cheer now.

None of the breeders got busted last year so we will be adding another $50 a member to our defense fund.

Sounds like you guys are having a good time. I just dropped a few Super Cali haze x sour 60 into a paper towel. I will post photos when they grow up.

Sounds wicked interesting to me. Keep us posted all the way I'll be reading with interest.

Hey next weekend is the smokeoff. this year we will be meeting and doing the business of the club. We are voting on two new members. Theye will have to get all positive results. One negative vote and they don't get in.

We will be picking up our test sheet and 17 different joints of all the entrants. I am submitting an auto in the auto class. It is shark bite and Blue Himalaya. Kind of a fun plant as an Auto shortie goes.

My wife is a much better joint roller than me so she will do the major work rolling the joints. We all use the same papers donated by the local head shop. I can't really say he is a member but I am not denying it also. We have to right the name of the pot along the glue side of the paper in ball point pen. We are supposed to smoke the pot as the first joint of the day and write down a 1 to 10 number by whatever judging criteria we each want to use. Taiste and smokability will be important to me but maybe not for others who go strictly be stone. To each his own. I'm a hard marker and have never given a 10.

In three stoned weeks from now we announce the winners.

Do you want me to report the smoke reports here?

Gee whiz this is fun.

Two days to go until the smoke off. My wife will roll the 14 joints I need to take to the smoke off. Getting my 50 bucks out to contribute to the defence fund. This year I will be bringing home 17 points to test and a score card. The awards night is set for the second Sinday of November. I got a wicked feeling that I will face 3 weeks of being wicked stoned.
