New Grower Cannabis Club Smoke-Off - Need Suggestions & Advice

It is 5:30 the Jets won their game. Been out and finished putting the roof on my new garage. There is something about working on a roof stoned when you are 66 and a brain cancer survior and a bit on the poor balance side as well. Just have to do it straight.

About to spark up test number 4 Oasis X NYCD.

This is probably total bullshit on my part but it seems to me that I get more stoned having to face a different pot everyday instead of just smoking the same kind every day. Anyway Muddy is so right I will soon be ready for detox.

LOL, I see detox in your future by the time you get through all 17 strains! Great reviews Nelson, keep em coming.

This is a post about my test number 4 for our local breeder club fall smoke off. All our members vote and this is just a log om my personal voting sheet. This is in the indica class or indica/sativa and in a photo period of Oasis X NYCD.

What makes this more interesting is the breeder. He is the oldest guy in the club and a real character. He still travels the world and smuggles home pot seeds. He doesn't own a computer and doesn't care to learn any new tricks. He does everything his own way and it all seems to work for him. About 4 years ago he went to Hawaii and brought seeds home of a type he called Blue Hawain. I had never heard of it but he said it grew on the big island. The breeders club was just getting started and there was no smoke off that year. It had the most unique flavour like fruit from hot climates like mangos or passion fruit. I have smoked stronger but never anything that tasted and smelled like that. Every year I take special notice of what he is offering in the smoke off. I took his breeding style and adopted it to be my breeding style also. He plants his male in a remote spot and throws some started female plants around it. He usually sticks with the old favorites for females. White Widow, nothern Lights, his own fruity skunk, NYCD and Bubblegum. Whatever cross he likes the best he then grows out.

The Oasis he used came in a bag of pot he was trying in Spain that had a few seeds in it. He used a male and female from the seeds he brought home to make his own Oasis. The male is from this breeding. The female is just an F2 of his own NYCD that many in the club have grown also and we got the seeds from this breeder.

My wife wasn't available for this test cause she was visiting her sister. It is just my impression.

My first drag told me I was not going to be comfortable with this pot . It hits like a hammer. I coughed my guts out. The second hit more coughing. It just seems to take your breath away like getting punched in the solar plexis. I took a couple more hits and I got the shakes. I felt cold. This is the paranoia express. The teens would love this stuff. I am way too old for this stuff. I became aware of every ache and pain in my body. The absolute oposite of medical pot. I poured myself a hot coffee and miied in some brandy and put the joint down. I have waited for an hour before I sat down to write this with my warmest sweater I could find on. I hate this stuff. I gave the rest of the joint to my son who hit the rest of it and then asked "do you think he has any of this for sale?" This is the best stuff I've had all year. What can I say. I would of couse love to give it about a 6 cause I will never smoke it again. It ain't mids so I guess it doesn't really deserve a 6. My son loved it. Oh my this is difficult. I would love to give this to Muddy to smoke and let him tell me what to give it. Ok it gets an 8.

Gee I thought I was the only one that has to switch back and forth daily. I still have friends that will only take White Widow or Trainwreck. I get really worried if I even get down to just a couple around to choose from. You know I have never combined two kinds together but what you say makes sence and maybe I will give it a try.

No I agree, and I like to switch up every couple of days. If I don't - my body seems to become accustomed whether it's through a buildup of tolerance or something more 'internal medicine' related & my endocannabinoid system has adjusted to influx of cannabinoids I've been introducing through the consumption of that particular strain of cannabis. It's also why I like blending strains together sometimes

OK here we go number 5 and I am not in detox yet. Of course this is number 5 in the indica class and some pot types I know well. Master Kush X Local Skunk. Master Kush is another one of those types like White Widow that got its start in the pot cafes of Amsterdamn that us poor non-nederlanders can't go into anymore. It was developed to originally make Skunk not so smelly and it succeeded very well. The skunk was bred to Hindu Kush and this was the result. It was practically odorless growing and even harvested made skunk a less smelly pot to roll a joint out of. The member obviously has bred it back to the stinky skunk from around here. A staple of the member who tried to kill me with the number 4 offering. His Skunk type is smelly and very close to the original skunk if memory serves me well. It seldom does.

This is a nice pot to smoke has that Hindu flavour mixed in with the grapefruity flavout that comes from the Skunk I think. This is just like the pot of ten years ago. It kind of lays back and then sneaks up on you after about three hits. One of those pots that is very relaxing and smooth. Old man pot for sure. I sat down to watch the Monday night game and fell totally asleep. I woke up and went to bed to hell with the game. I was more happy asleep than awake. If you like pot that totally relaxes you and sends you into nighty nite land this is one of the best at this that there is. Totally theraputic. I real bonus to the pot world. Takes all the worry and the desire to party right out of you. Great dreams very opium like. I'm giving this one a 7 on my scale.

I usually won't smoke the same strain more than 2 days in a row. If I don't switch off I become tolerant to that strain. With some trading I've bee doing with a couple friends I think I now have about 30 strains to pick from. I love opening the desk drawer and seeing all those jars and deciding which one I feel like smoking today.

That sounds very similar to my experience with Super Lemon Haze. It was winning cups and getting a lot of hype so thought I'd try it. Hated it and ended up giving it all away.

I like that, old man pot for us old men. That's exactly the kind I like in the evenings. Sounds great.

Wow Muddy I thought my wife was bad. She has about 6 pint jars lined up and labelled to choose from. Of course she picks her favorites.

I think I am liking my new review plan for the indicas. That is smoke em in the evening and write about em the next day. Tomorrow is going to be a wicked busy day for me. I get up early head to the hospital for a blood test then home for a coffee and breakfast. Gotta run out and get my Winter tires on my Winter car and then home cause I got friends visting from Montreal. I will try and squeese in the review.

To make matters worse number 6 is a pot where I know absolutely nothing about the pot other than it is called Jamaican Rock Female: Rocklock X Male Jamaican Grape. I sure as hell haven't grown any of the parents and doult if I have smoked either one also. A friend called me from the club and asked if I had tried this one yet. I'm afraid. Why isn't Muddy here to try this first.
