The starting effincency is good enough, still around 10% less l/W compared to cxbs.
The graphs in the spec sheet are not clear enough to get the idea how efficent they get when underdriven, so some testing would be nice.
Their price is not so low afterall, so I don't expect them to be so popular.

pacific light concepts has updated their store stock.
they now have 200 watt drivers for $45.00 us dollars and other items for light builds at decent prices.
waiting on my order (just 4 3590's) from PLC now. just got an alert from usps and they should be on the way. yeahhh

Heatsinks for 3590 at PLC. Drilled and tapped $17

And all other components for 3590 building. If you're stateside it's about $80 cheaper than the cutter kits, with a bigger heatsink.

And of course the pre-wired timber kits are about the same price as cutter(when you add reflectors)

Thanks for the info, all. Ended up going with the parts from Pacific Light Concepts with the 200W, 1.4a driver and four of the 3590's, holders, and the round passive heat sinks. They are out of stock on the reflectors, so I'll have to track those down, but I can get everything up and running without those if it comes to it. Should be a nice upgrade to the closet, and then I can move my Platinum LED's into the tent for the photo plant mainlining project. WHEEEEEEE!!! :woohoo:

Now just have to finalize how I'm going to hang things (well...and wait for the order to show), but I've already got a good idea on how I'm going to do that. Need to find a neighbor with a good drill press I can borrow.

Easy mounting for the 140mm heatsinks without drilling and tapping the sinks. 1"x1" alum angle, with a simple screw over the heatsinks to hold it in place.

No leds yet but going with the lsd 200w 1.4A drivers with a 75k wired to the dimmer (150watts) and 2 x cxb3590 72v 3000k 90cri each driver for a dedicated flowering side of my perpetual tent.

Looks interesting, i wonder how the heatsinks will perform with the leds driven on 75w(is it the right wattage?).
Nice setup atulip;-)

Got the parts in yesterday and starting to piece things together on my build as well. Did my first test on hanging a heat sink toady. Need to practice getting the cables the same length a little more as I'm just a hair off on one of 'em on this one. Not going to be part of the initial build, but eventually my plan is to be able to adjust the height of each COB individually, as well as raise/lower the common bar they're all on. Hard to explain but should make more sense once I'm further along.

PLC tested them. They're good up to 100w for 3590s. And perform better with a little airflow.

Impressive, thanks for the info.
Since PLC is not available in EU i don't bother checking their site, but seems there's some useful stuff on there.
Cheers

*somehow i missed the data of the heatsink width, thought it was only 80mm. These 140mm ones are huge:)

yeah spoke to jerry today smth like 13 usd for the heatsinks pretty good deal i reckon
