Lighting COB or driver upgrade

You need a 50k pot to dim. 2 drivers at once.. And a 5k resistor in series..
Good luck

Going from 600-1050 with the same voltage cob will increase the intensity big time. Increase light, heat and raw plant burning power. I'd skip the 1212's to. Dimmable driver is a must. I would also rather have 1812's at 700 than a 1212 at 1050. Hope my last minute curve ball doesn't screw up your plans.

Well my plan is to go ahead and order 8 1812s and run them on the mars drivers to finish the last 3-4 weeks of flower for the 2 photo girls in my cabinet. I can get 3500k 1812 80cri for $15 a piece. My only concern is Im not sure the drivers will run 2 of them since the voltage is a good bit higher. I would like to order either the 1812s for $15 or 1212s at $10 tonight whichever would work the best using the old drivers for the time being. I have 5 x 86v and 1 x 100v driver from my old Mars 300s. And maybe a combination of 1812s and 2530s would work the best. I know Im just overthinking all of this so shoot me what you think may be the best option. Also what in your opinion would be the best of the best COB driver combo for my 18"x34"x70" cabinet because if its not to much more money I may as well spend it all at once instead of messing with changing parts out.

The mars driver will not run 2 1812's. It would run 2 1212's though. Scrap the 2530's. I actually gave away 12 of them with holders and shipped them for free. For your space I'd aim for 100 watts. either 4 or 6 cobs in total.

Those prices are great. After shipping I pay more than that and I buy them at 200-300 at a time.

You started with the mars driver. If you want to purchase a new driver then things will change as the mars drivers amperage was low.

I planned on replacing all the mars drivers and the cxa2530s eventually. The drivers are a nuisance because 6 of those mars drivers take up a lot of space. So if I can run 4 - 6 048s and buy 1 or 2 new drivers to run them on I should probably just spend the little extra and be done with the upgrade all in 1 go. As long as I get a dimmable driver the height restriction shouldn't be a real issue with intensity. I need to do some more research and reading so I can be able to just do a quick calculation for the best setup for allowed space haha. What cob and driver setup would you run in my space if you were gonna build a new light? I will be active and maybe watercooled for shits and giggles.

I just read back and 18x34 is a small space. If you want to build a light I'd probably use the mars drivers and add in 3-1212's or 3-1812's. The mars drivers are lower amperage giving less wattage. I'd bet if you were to go much higher than this you would cook your plants.

are there any switching mode power supplies that will use 36 V DC as the power source? it seems like the preferred embodiment is always 120 to 240 V AC. every time there is a power conversion, there is an energy loss that I would like to avoid.

Ok so just run 3 1212 or 1812 with the Mars drivers? If so 1212 would be around 70w and the 1812 like 90w correct?

I went ahead and ordered 4 CLU048-1812C4-353H5M3-F1 with holders. I think I may be able to make the new setup work with 3 of the mars drivers. I have 1 driver thats 100v and the rest are 86v. Since they are being ran at 660 - 680ma I just may be able to run 2 on the 100v driver with 2 of the 86v drivers running 1 cob each and a fan.
