I simply hate Hydroton (the clay balls commonly used in hydro). My first attempt with hydro I used them balls, didn't like 'em, plant was OK with it, but I wasnt. Flooded the system, and gently removed the plant...replaced the Hydroton with Coco & perlite and had a phenomenal first grow experience! I've since seen a few others using this technique. My heirloom tomatoes absolutely love this method and I reap UNENDING harvests. I've had a Paul Robeson black tomato plant producing for almost a year!
BTW, Hydroton floats! Making it simple to pull the plant...just flood the system and you can pluck it roots 'n all cleanly from the dasterdly balls![/QUOTE]
That is something I never considered. I used to grow in hydroton and was thinking about trying a run in the small table with my old style. 1 plant 2x4 scrog. 8 in net pot. Your tek will work nicely.
Thank you Eggy
