Grow Mediums Coco E.C run off showing to high compared to measuring in cup

Hi there guys,

I’m new to coco and needed advice. I’ve measured the E.C of the water I’m using which is 0.1.
I added coco in a mug along with the water, the E.C shows 0.3.
However, when I measure the E.C of the run off, it shows 1.4.
I have not started the grow as I would like the E.C to be below 0.5 but I do not know where the extra figures are coming from.

Any suggestions on how I can reduce the E.C of the run off or should I just go ahead with the grow?

Just flush the hell out of the Coco, 3times x volume of the pot, and charge with some 0,4ec calmag..

That being said, I've used 2.4ec shitty cocoblocks from the start and the plants just chugged along..

I chased the same problem, (mid grow), when I first started using coco! I finally got it down, but since then I just don't worry about it!

I flushed today with your method. E.C went down to 0.4 which is awesome!

What brand of coco were you using?
