New Grower Contest: 32oz. Grow Competition

Just some info from a noob to any other noob in this contest that wants to try their hand at a humpy cup, here is it what I just came up with, a bit neater than the hack job first bucket... I got a 32oz foam cup, measured 2" above bottom of cup, than cut a circle above that, than I got some door screen from home depot, cut a small piece off and used plumbers goop to stick it on in the inside... Had another just put of the the ground, a super skunk x Russian dragon (f2).... That went into a 32oz cup with sunshine mix advanced hydro....

Liking the idea of the cleanliness of the hempy cup, should be less chance of pests going in the medium, correct...? Sending everyone a big old :gthumb: karma cloud! Can't wait to see us ALL at the finish line!

Budz...I've gotta say....WOW!!!...I didn't expect such a big turn out for this comp.!...this is def. going to be one of the biggest comps. we've had yet!!......

Thanks for the Info. Makes sense.

I have seen a grow report with a clear pot were the roots seemed unaffected (posted in my grow report). I almost want to tape the container but on the other hand where is the fun in that. We will see the results when its done. I will take some shots of the roots at the end of the grow and document the algae development.

nice idea, at least we get to see what happens for real. It will be nice to be able to see the roots progress in the clear cup anyway.
Also another idea if there is a non-clear cup same size you can drop one into the other so its kept dark but you can pull out the inner clear cup and examine the roots. that could work quite nicely I reckon.

hey there,

I got a question on those air holes,
how many are allowed for the competition, as I got a metal can and could easily drill like 100 holes in...
(this would be a airpot in a way...)

if this has bee discussed, sorry.
Its kinda hard to read 40 pages

Here's my 1 day old Medusas Fruit standin tall. 1 other is just peekin out of the soil and the rest are being shy.2 more days in the starter plug and it hits its 32oz home.

hey guys.

yesterday I found that the remaining seeds had germinated, so that is all five on their way now
Managed to sort out my grow cabinet a bit more this weekend so things are looking good. heres my end of comp week 1 pictures ;
