New Grower Couple Pics ... Nirvana auto Blue Mystic

Muddy mentioned a while back that it was his favorite plant which should be a great recommendation ... gonna be a fun grow but a hot one ... I can give them plenty of air but all of it will be hot (80-95F) ... I'm hoping the Afghan in it will help it pull through ...

The growth in the past six hours is visible, especially in the smallest one ... The Blackstar180 should have gone in there as soon as we cut the Blue Mystic ... Every day counts in the life of an auto, especially when it's a seedling ...

All three seeds were planted about 4" above 1/2 of a Nirvana Soil Tab ... There is something about these soil tabs that autos are willing to accept w/o getting stunted and they'll really take off w/ the added light ... I only used a 1/2 soil tab because it only has to work for 3-4 weeks since I'm planting these, Root Pouch and all outdoors around 5/25 at which time I'll be inserting Flower Tabs to handle these plants nutritional needs through the rest of the grow, which I predict will be about 8 weeks .. last two weeks both tabs should have run out which makes cleansing easier ... Another reason for not using a full soil tab is these plants need to stay short, under 18" preferably ...

The sun here in NY can grow some amazing weed and I fully expect these Short Riders to produce a truly impressive smoke ... Hopefully he has some left when I come back in the fall ...

Couple quick pics ...

The largest one is responding well to having her center lifted ...

I pulled the middle one out of the dirt yesterday ... I am amazed
she's alive today ... feels like her roots have taken hold again ...
She has some leaf twist but if that's all that happens, I'm lucky ...

Reading through your notes, I also am doing a short rider and 2 blue mystics. I am new and doing my first, so I am curious, why did you do the center lift on the plant? Do you do it on all the plants or is there some specific reason? I just haven't seen that before. Is it some type of LST? Your plants are looking great, looking forward to following the grow!

Hey Spiker ... Lifting the center leaves is a form of LST that allows more light to get to the lower nodes ... helps to keep the plant shorter and bushier ... it works great . I usually start at 10 days if they look like they could benefit from it. On this grow I pulled the mid sized one out of the ground while lifting her leaves so it may have been a few days early for her ... If you look back over my last few grows I've tried to document the procedure w/ pictures. The grower I picked it up from called it pony tailing .... Best of Luck w/ your grow ...

The Ladies got their first taste of the sun today ... I'm having a problem w/ the mid sized one ... could be caused by the rough treatment it got last week but it appears to be a deficiency that the others don't share ... soil ph is 6.2 ... it's only on the lower leaves currently ...

I would appreciate any input ... Thanks for looking and have a great day ... :dance2:

Lifting the leaves helps slow upward growth and encourages bushing out ... I'll check out phos def. Thanks ...
