New Grower darn u fox farm

In all honesty, you can buy some amendments ,lime, castings n such thats in the FF ya'll like and make a better soil for about the same amount as a few bags of FF soil.maybe a little more but you'll have FAR superior soil and more of it.just an fyi for future buys. be good everyone!"AFN smoke out"

I figured I'd rely on bagged soil till I can move into intermediate level growing and learn more about soil composition. Understanding the inner workings of organics & soil composition etc is a bit overwhelming for me right now, I'm getting there but not confident enough that I could create decent soil yet.

Well I hope they sort their act out soon for all you american growers sakes! Hopefully it's like you said, and demand and a couple of unlucky breaks in getting hold of materials rather than them just stopping giving a f**k. Sucks they didn't get back to you, thats pretty bad customer service.

Well, I didn't really pose a question that required response...just told them that their rep was going in the toilet in my part of the online Canna world due to their quality control issues and they had better start crossing their "t"'s and dotting their "i"'s if they didn't want to lose a significant portion of their customers....

...yeah, they continue to be a gamble,...which no longer will play! :cuss: I live in the same state as them, and I still got OF/HF bags in the low 5's,...also, some junky stuff in there as well,... mixing/grading issues still,... I hear they treat some of the ingredients with urea to "age" them artificially, and I suspect that even after adjusting the pH in my bags, and still getting stunting, the soil wasn't cooked down enough... Muddy was the one that told me the best, primary source of their mulch was depleted a couple years ago, and since have been scrambling to reproduce it's equivalent... So, the mixed reviews and results continue,....... meantime, I've found a much better, more reliable soil products from Sanctuary Soil... pH testing is spot on, they are beautifully amended, and not too hot,... (using Empire Builder, and just picked up a more mulchy variant, Victory Garden soil-- will blend for finishing soil, but still cut it with seedling mix when starting beans...).. we'll see how they do! The photo' girls certainly like it!

Oh, fair play. Although, you would think if someone complained about a product they would at least make a response. My sister complained to a supermarket about some chicken she had bought and they sent her £50 of vouchers and a personal apology.

Exactly...

For anyone considering fox farms or any other organic soil for that matter. There are so many good recipes here and at other forums that will work perfectly at a fraction of the costs of a bag of FF. My soil costs me $60 to make 20 gallons of soil and has all the nutrients needed already included so all I have to do is water throughout the entire grow. For those using bottled organic nutrients you could leave out most of my amendments and have about $20 in 20 gallons of soil. There is absolutely no need to deal with FF or any other soil manufacturer at double the price. They are preying on uninformed consumers and as has been discussed here ad nauseum, the quality sucks and is giving growers tons of problems.

I think many would be AMAZED at how simple it really it..you dont need to understand it to use it my friend..just buy a handful of components (the right ones ofcourse) and some cheap decnt soil n let it sit for 2-3 weeks after adding amounts required, and there ya have it..a self buffering soil that'll lend well to anything ya put in it..ok well. Most things anyway.LOL!including autos! autos like the basic mixes I make.aint burned a seed yet.

imo its really that simple Nomis, man.I use Miracle grow..Miracle grow YEAH miracle grow:roflcry: organic soil and add various things and let it sit, melt and blend for 2-4 weeks.more if ya can ofcourse ,but this aint TLO either. but it'll be such a smooth grow you''ll wonder where this has been yer entire life man..heck man..I did!!I still wonder that.. where has this easy growing been my whole life dangit!!:roflcry:

edit:Maaan I hate being a slow typer guy lol

yep! gots to be trapper, cause I live closer to east coast. my happy frog was 4.9 with gnats. but real light smooth soil.my next grow im gonna use pro mix and feed pretty much from week 2. is that the correct way with pro mix hq?

With Pro Mix, feed them right from the start. They used to put a small charge of starter nutes in but I believe they have stopped. Even when it was in their mix, it always was depleted in the first week. I start my seeds with 1/8 strength, up it to 1/4 on the second or third feeding, depending on how they are doing.
