so for the larger lights youare aresaving alittle more than multiple lights that are smaller is the way i am looking at it also
but loosing alittle versitility if you wanted to be able to position 4 lights compaired to one light

They won't discount if you order off their web site but will if you call and talk to them directly. Four of their 240s would be enough for a 4' x 4' area. They would rock it. As Cres and I were just discussing, by the time you add in the cost savings on electricity and replacement bulbs, LEDs are cheaper than HPS in the long term. More smaller LEDs are better than 1 big one. Gives you the option to raise and lower them independently to accommodate varying plant heights.

Pro Mix BX for seedlings and HPS lights, HP for LEDs, CFLs and T5s. BX hold a little more water than HP. HP tends to dry out a bit too fast under HPS.

Hey Muddy , I got my BS ufo from there .......gotham was great service with the ordering .....I would order from them again my UFO was 2 days early from what scheduled delivery said.....U said to mention the forum here to get discounts ....is that for anyone or can we get direct email responce ....I wouldnt want to say anything wrong to jeprodize UR guys dedication to the site ......I have some time to save ...Was gonna do the HPS for now but i Will get another LED and the BS 240 or the 1 up from it ....since i have a HUGE tent ....4x4x6 is the exact measurements ......From what i read earlier I need LIKe 6 in there or 1 very high powered ....I can supplement lights from the FLOs i have right and just use maybe 2 BS240s ....Gonna be doing better grows from here on out hopefully ......

Gonna give the ProMix BS i beleive is what u use .....I want to do the JustRight Xtra along side the Promix and see the difference .....I am also looking at 400w Hps I can get 3 compared to a 500w BS..I think its 500w but not 100% clear

That would certainly take care of the heat issues. Off hand I can't think of anyone that has tried it, but since you already have the HPS, why not?

I never grew with a 1000 watter, only 400 and 600. I do get bigger, tighter buds from the LEDs than I got with HPS. Makes sense when you consider that HPS light is only about 15% usable to the plants compared to 95%+ for the LEDs. My GLH LED is about 2 years old now and showing no signs of any performance loss. The BS are just over a year old. Longevity is the big unknown with LEDs. Yes, they say 50,000 hours, which is 6.8 years at 20 hours a day but I'm not expecting that. I'm think more on the lines of 4-5 years from them. For me LEDs were a no brainer. Couldn't control the heat well enough with the HPS in my small spaces.

plus sometimes the extra ac cost not always looked at when calling the price
if i could cut back 1/4 ac cost in some cases i could pay for them
i really like the idea of adding them to a hps system for a knockout punch and is the reason i looked at building cheaper versions a while back mostly blue originally to off the extra cost of horti-FUX but hey they are worth the little extra in price to give that wider spectrum
and if i could have curbed the dif and bought cheaper hps bulbs then added the leds for mostly blue spectrum
it was win win and would cut back on that bud stretch you were dis but usually this is from heat also
but when i was doing it i really only worked w/ 1-2 watt lights that didn't really push through as known an sorta pettered out about it from other things going on

I have a large adjust-a-wing for the 1000w so the 2 - 240s on each side of the wing would need to cover 9 x 5... Hmmm you got me thinking...

damn im so glad i see yall here discussing this .....trying to make a decision for the next show and this is great help ......I do see the plant varying height issue as to i have ruined spacing on 2 plants because the different varying bucket sizes ....not to mention the shitty soils compared to the good soils .....

So i wouldnt mind doing the HPS and 2 240s either ......

I am also looking into a space in the closet ....3x3x5 is pretty close to the measurements...and its alot safer than the tent in my house ....I want to use the tent still for my outdoor veggies and garden stuff ....i got the tent a year ago and basiclly all i used it for before now .....

on other notes I lost 3 plants due to balls so now the others get a better focus on light


1 more quick question ...I have bloom bulbs would this matter since they feed on tons of light ...It will decrese the lumens by 3000k but give me 100 more wats ....good idea ...bad idea ????

That could work out real nice and cover that area very well.

With the two LEDs I have now in that space there are rarely at the same height, so I think the multiple light idea makes a lot of sense from that standpoint.

What are those bloom bulbs, CFLs?
