New Grower Dutch Passion Auto Blueberry - what does it like?

Gnomo and Pineapple Express are both out of the box, hanging out in dim corners for a couple of days before I harvest.

First because I didn't know better and then because I figured drying 'properly' wasn't as important if you are using it mainly for edibles, I have typically cut my plants apart after harvest and laid the buds and leaves out on a screen to dry in the basement. They generally dry very fast--too fast by all the guides I'm reading--partly because we have a dehumidifier and a fan keeping the air nice down there, also because I was spreading them out so much. I thought it was more important to make sure the buds don't get moldy. And surely it is, but I need to slow the process down more. The weight is nothing by the time I'm done and that can't be good.

I'm going to hang the whole plant upside down this time, inside a mesh laundry hamper like this one.

Thinking it'll create a kind of microclimate that'll slow the drying and give it some protection from circulating air hitting it too directly. And it'll catch any bits that drop off and make it easy to move to another location if needed.

Was going to give the auto blueberry as much time as she wanted but need to get a repairman to the house so hoping I can move her out of the box and shut it down on Tuesday night.

We had a family crisis that kind of eclipsed the plants this month... sadness </3.

Gnomo and Pineapple Express ended up drying in place in the dim room. They are so light the weight of the harvest won't be much, I'm sure, but they smell very nice as I'm trimming them down and are still sticky. I think the blueberry will end up a little heavier. It's still pretty flexible. Pics and numbers after I've sorted it all out.

I've let it dry too quickly in the past, thinking that it didn't matter because we don't smoke it, and even though I'm sure it's not as good as if I'd managed to dry it out slowly, the over-dry stuff has always worked pretty well in the food. I think the larger two plants have decarbed a little already so I'll apply less heat when I do the coconut oil extractions. I usually do two kinds, solid coconut oil for cooking that is partially decarbed to reduce the chances of it over-converting during cooking or baking, and liquid coconut oil (fractionated) that I decarb more for use directly when it won't be cooked. Before the solid stuff cools, I dole it out by tablespoons into one of those clear plastic egg cartons that folds over, so I end up with a bunch of pre-measured tablespoons that pop out solid and then go in the fridge like butter. The liquid just goes in bottles. I always mark it since, for example, the Afghan Kush Ryder is better for night and makes me eat anything that is not actually moving around, while the Gnomo is a great daytime weed. I often mix them but it's good to know what's about to hit you.

Anyway... will get some pics up soon.
