Hey guys,

New to this page and new to DWC with Autos so, I am looking for some advice if possible. I have just purchased Fastbuds Stardawg and before I do ahead and root them, want to cover off the following:

. * what temp should the res be roughly night/day?
* what temp should the tent be at day/night?
* what distance from the plant would you have the lamp? Hps 600w (no cool tubes)
* what are the basic nutes the plants need to survive?
* for example, on a auto, how many times would you do a res change based on 60/70 days, every time you add nutes or every 7/10 days?

I have grown in soil previously however, hydro is a whole new ball game to myself, seen and heard so many wonderful things about it yet, so many horror stories but I am not want to be deterred haha...

I know the basics of PH and Ppm so, any other relevant information would be greatly appreciated ...

PS, if you could keep it laymans terms would be superb haha stay blazed ✌️

- I think 68 degrees is the best ans lowest for oxygen uptake

* what temp should the tent be at day/night?
-75ish during day, 65ish at night

-i normally used an air cooled reflector and I kept mine around 12 to 18 inches..so you might need 18-20 cause of the heat

* what are the basic nutes the plants need to survive?
-google Lucas formula. Very easy for beginners and cheap as well.

-for DWC id say change the reservoir weekly. I have done it where I dont change the res at all and just let the plants eat the nutes and water. Its all up to you. As long as you have a ph meter and ppm meter you ahould be able to read and understand what the plant wants as you keep growing.

I've grown RDWC/DWC for most of the time I've been around doing this. I think if you want to be super efficient you should change the reservoir weekly and make sure that there ia water always right under the net pot or 5 gallon top. I tried to have 2 air stones per plant but sometimes that isn't always viable.

Another note, try to keep the pH between 5.8=> 6.3 in dwc. They will love it.

I dont know a ton about your setup but I can tell you that dwc is one of the fastest-growing techniques available. I grow mostly photoperiods but I have grown utoflowers in the dwc and even had them under 12/12 for most od their life and yielded 3.5 zips per diesel berry after losing a top on both planta cause of white mold.

Hopefully this helps some of your questions!

Edit:
I've ran dwc setups where my water was easily around 80 degrees and my tent was in the mid 80s to low 90s. You can make things work as long as you talk care of them right with oxygen and nutes. Try to have good air flow in the room if you plan on having the area this warm. Dont get me wrong good air flow is always needed but especially when the room is hot.

Very good answers bro.
I too grow dwc. Autos and photos both love it. Growth explodes around week 4-6 so be ready for it.

Very true, they will blow up. I also recommend defoliatoon in DWC as the plants recover quickly. Im teaching my buddy how to grow and he is running the same setup I did. Every 3ish days he is defoliating his plants and then they are booming with new growth by the next time he defoliates. Now thats mostly a photoperiods thing I believe but I couldn't imagine it hurting an auto enough to qhere it wouldn't reach most of its potential.

I grew a 6oz northern lights auto and I was real mean to her lol

Now thats what I like to hear. Even 4-5 years ago if someone said they grew a 6oz auto people would have been saying bull shit. Now a days the genetics have come so far. Photos and autos have so many thing you can do to them. Its an amazing plant that uou can beat up and is a resilient little bugger hahaha

Welcome
I don't know what nutrients you plain to use or supplements. I like GH Treo micro, grow, bloom, supplements I use hydroguard and calmagic no other nutrients. Seeding to 2 set of true leaves ph water only I have to use 1/2 tap water(430 ppm, Not good for seedlings) and 1/2 distilled water to get my ppm down to 190-210) I then week 2 add 1/8 tea spoon of each micro, grow, bloom, 1/2 tea spoon cal-magic and 1/8 tea spoon hydroguard. Note add cal magic 1st then Micro , Grow, Bloom and last hydroguard per gallon mix each well before adding the next then adjust PH check ppm try for 250-350. I stay at the feeding until week 4 then 1/4 tea spoon. then week on week 6 1/2 tea spoon on week 8 1/4 grow 1 tea spoon bloom on week 9 no grow week 11 flush week 12 harvest or you can flush . bud seem to taste and smeel better with 2 week flush. now this is how I do it ) just some info.
