I use the Canna Rhizotonic and I absolutely love it! I was going to switch over to Dutch Pro nutes but was swayed away after speaking with my buddy at the hydro shop here in town. I've had my eye on the Canna line of nutes for a while. How would you rate them? Do you have problems with burning or anything, what should I look out for?

What exactly is a compost tea? Does it work with a DWC setup?

My understanding is itr does not work in DWC. Compost tea is exactly that, you soak some compost and add maybe worm castings, etc. throw in an airstone and bubble it for 24 hours. In a Kratky Bucket, you don't use any airstones, no pumps. You maintain a minimum space below the net pot of at least 1 inch. That airspace allows roots to absorb oxygen right from the air, and seems to protect them from root rot.

How long have uve been casting for. Takes 3 months to my knowledge to build a proper casting, good luck either way. Will be following.

I just started using them. how soon really depends on several factors. how many worms, size of container, food source, how many eggs came with the worms, etc. My castings may not be completely ready but even at this stage, they are beneficial and loaded with bacteria.

They are very good and stable at least for photo. strains that I grow normally and never had any problems, I tried dutch pro also but did not really see any real difference except my PH went up more then with CANNA :)

I am looking for a good CaliMag but not sure if I get the mono nutrition line from CANNA or something else, would love some recommendations from people ;)

Against all advice I tried AN nutes in my RDWC and it was a disaster. I'm now running House and Garden Aqua Flakes without issue. About to try their soil nutes as well. Great tech support. If you have an issue they don't give up until it's resolved.

Compost tea works very well in DWC, i have used a brewed tea ever since i started DWC, it puts beneficial bacteria into your res, which helps fight off bad bacteria that can cause root rot. I have ran my dwc temps up into the high 70's 78f. and still have bright white roots. I don't need to use a chiller because i use a tea. Never had an issue with rot.

Because compost tea is living bacteria you want to add it LAST to your res. YOu don't want to add in a tea then blast it with a PH adjustment, it can kill the beneficial bacteria. So you make up your res, adjust the PH then add the tea.

I personally use Root Assist tea from SKunk Labs horticulture.

Actually i just make a youtube video talking about just this topic. Have a look if you want
