Trying my luck at an Earthbox Junior and chose Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel from Super Sativa Seed Club because she has proven herself capable of growing a big plant that produces dense stinky buds. One task when setting up an EBjr is to screen the bottom. Materials used were of concern so I took a plastic tray liner from my food dehydrator and cut that to shape. This is food safe plastic so shouldn’t leach too bad. I just placed it in and backfilled to keep the plastic in place so it will be removable and easy to clean should I empty the EBjr.

Filled it with Stonington Blend soil, amending the soil as described by the EBJ instructions but with coast of Maine amendments. I filled it to the rim but didn’t mound yet so I have a small top dressing space available but not the amount I’ve seen others leave so maybe I should have left more.

I planted her straight into Stonington as I have noticed ABLD is less picky than other varietals about hot soil in the seedling stage(now it will burn). She seems to be growing well despite 40% humidity within tent as I am finishing a seed run, I have left a humidity dome in place to try and help and I’m not overly concerned with a slow start as ABLD has given me generous Veg cycles each grow

Day 17
Day 17 and she got topped above the 5th node, a bit behind my typical but within a safe range of size/days. Haven’t watered the EBjr. At all until today. I actually left the plastic mulch cover off to vent a few days only just misting the soil surface to moisten and cover again today. Don’t think I’ll add water to the bottom for the first time for a few more days. Wet soil in an earthbox is unforgiving, be warned don’t overwater your earthbox and don’t put in too wet soil to start. Slow and steady wins the race

Day 23 Sex
Defoliated some upper fans and ones that aimed toward the center of the plant. First leaf I pulled I swear I smelled skunk but I was unable to reproduce the whiff

And I just found her first pistil

Day 30
Some curling to the leaves on new growth, excess nitrogen? Too much humidity? At any rate I top dressed her with 4tbsp Stonington blend plant food and 2 tbsp roots organics bloom terp tea. I covered that with about an inch of Stonington. Mixed up a gallon of RO and Canna Bioflores and top watered about a 1/4 gallon then filled the res through the tube until it flooded from the overflow. First time actually doing this maybe a bit late and maybe another potential reason for the leaves being curled. Defoliated some towards the center

I haven't seen that in an Earthbox,
Could you have washed nutes into the rez?

I don’t think I did as I haven’t watered substantially, today was the first res fill and large watering as when the soil was added it was a bit waterlogged. Maybe the watering will correct the issue
