Assuming everything else is dialed in, what light do you think is the easiest to achieve 1gpw with?

Im considering 2x150w HID or 2x MarsHydro Mars II 400(170w draw)

Dude I don't know I've been growing for a couple yrs now with a 600 mh/hps and I've never hit 1gpw

300 v 170 assuming all else is equal would be hard not to pick the bigger number.
if I have a mars 96x3 (true watts ?) run a perpetual kinda thing drop a seed every 3-4 weeks.normally have 3 in the cupboard sometimes 4.if I yield 70g/plant on average do times that by 3 and divide by true watts ?
I think I might have heard the 96x3 was 180w true if so im 1.16gpw or 0.86gpw that's BS cause im a shit grower, and or shit at sums to.
the perpetual thing shouldn't mess the equation up much other than the initial start up,but im not taking that into account as start up was a long time ago.maybe perpetual needs a slightly different formula.
maybe gpw should take into account every watt in the growroom and not just the lights ?
I suppose I havnt answered any of your questions, and just added some more of my own.
sorry for being unhelpfull and a twat.
:pighug:

Lol.. Dude your funny .
I'm fixing to order 2 260 actual watt leds . I'm hoping thwy produce some big plants. I don't know what's been going on lately buy my plants don't seem to grow that big at all . I've put in new mh bulbs and hps bulbs. And they are tiny.

Mars will give you very comparable light output as HPS, actual watt vs watt. HPS actually has higher light output than mars, but half that light goes up and suffers from reflector loss before it can hit the canopy.

Mars 2 series is a bit pricey for what it is, a cheap Chinese led. Their 300w eBay model($65) is a better buy, both use the same 5w leds, just 60x5 vs 80x5.

what about the norther 150w whenever it comes back into stock
sorry i ment the 75 watt holographic

Good light, but overpriced for what you get. It's only 75w of led. Even at lumiled rebels ran soft, you're only seeing 150-180 lm/watt. So 75w GN is probably pretty equal to a 150w HPS at most.

If you're interested in efficiency, Pacific lights concepts, tasty led, timber, optics lighting are all quality lights reasonably priced.

Otherwise, most other leds are using far less efficient diodes, and you need equal watts or more to push out the same light as HPS.

For a 120x120 flowering room I would consider only these options and probably choose the last one - DIY leds (CMD is best HID option). I think the easiest way to go above 1g/W are good leds, not old tech ones.

HID
1x 600W hps - classic
1x 750W hps(gavita) - better than classic
1x 630 CMD(ceramic) 9300 bulbs(actually 2x 315W in one fixture) - top HID spectrum

LED
500W cree cxb 3000K/3500K leds DIY - top efficency, many options
