Was looking for an easy way to calculate how much it would cost to power some lights I have been researching lately. This website make it pretty fool proof, just enter in your $price/kWh, then select how much power you will be running, and the hours you will run it for.
24/0 = 720 hours/month
18/6 = 540 hours/month
12/12 = 360 hours/month
so for a 400 watt HID system at 10c/kWh you are looking at:
24/0 = $28.80
18/6 = $21.60
12/12 = $14.40
It has some other inputs as well if you would like to see where you can cut down on some power usage. I remember reading a post on here about buying a timer for your water heater to be on only during the day. Just a thought!
