FC-E4800 and 4x4 grow tent looking for winner! - Mars Hydro Review Contest

#marshydroreview

Have never used Mars Hydro products, but I've heard so much about them. My perceptions are that a) Mars Hydro is a high-quality, industry leader in home grow lights, tents, and other products, and b) are very concerned with quality and customer service, as shown by their presence on this and other sites.

Looking at the grow tent, it appears to be a high quality grow tent. The zippers and the double stitching are higher quality than the competitors I've seen on Amazon. I really like the exterior storage bag, and the number of access points which provide options. And when it comes down to it, I really like to have options available to me as a grower. I also like the metal poles and metal corner pieces, which I know some other vendors skimp on. Overall A+ on the tent design.

The FC-e4800 light looks nothing short of amazing. Again, the options are what speak volumes to me. Gone are the fixed spacing LEDS. Here you can customize the bar layout to customize your light distribution of your grow. Fantastic design here! Makes me want to leave my engineering job and go work for Mars Hydro in their design and engineering department as they must have top-notch individuals there.

I have been using the MarsHydro sp3000 since it’s debut. It’s very reliable, and one of the most capable grow lights available.
The sp3000 is a marvel in modern grow technology. The dimmer switch and daisy chain ability allows the sp3000 to compete with more expensive lights and still remain affordable to the user.
I’m especially fond of the daisy chain feature. Daisy chaining allows the user to setup multiple units through the operation of a single unit. Daisy chaining makes setup fast and easy.
The sp3000 is efficient and has a very high par map. The dimmer switch comes in handy when making clones or for young seedlings. You can adjust it power output to accommodate different grow stages of your plants life. I find this feature is very useful as well.
So rather you are a seasoned grower, or just getting started, the sp3000 will allow you to produce top quality medicine like the pros.
The light spectrum will allow uses to produce dense, frosty buds time and time again.
You don’t have to just take my word for it, just look around and you can see the just how many AFN members are using MarsHydro led lights and MarsHydro grow tents.
So what are you waiting for? MarsHydro offer afn members a discount. There is also free discrete shipping. It’s time to get out and grow with MarHydro. Everybody’s doing it. Every plant in the pics where grown using the MarsHydro SP3000.View attachment 1347205View attachment 1347206View attachment 1347207View attachment 1347208View attachment 1347209View attachment 1347210View attachment 1347211View attachment 1347212View attachment 1347213

It seems like you are our engineer. Or I can't explain why you know them so well!

I took some time to put my thoughts together on this one, so here goes...

Please check out my grow journal below. This was for my second ever grow. I used 2 Mars Hydro SP-3000's in my 4x4 tent. The tent is a cheap viparspectra that I would gladly upgrade to a MarsHydro tent.

In my second ever grow, using soil, autopots and Megacrop nutrients, using 2 SP-3000's, I pulled almost 2 lbs from 4 plants. Let that sink in for a minute. 6 months later, my personal medical needs are still more than covered.

I couldn't be happier with the SP-3000 lights I'm using. They completely saturate the 4x4 grow area, and using the $5 Photone app, I'm able to accurately dial in the DLI (Daily Light Integral) for my autoflowers on the 20x4 schedule I'm running. Dialing in the DLI like this leaves both lights set at under 75% most of the time, lengthening their shelf life and ensuring the plants don't get more than they can handle, and I'm not paying for more energy than needed.

It is safe to say that 2 SP-3000's is MORE than enough light for a 4x4. When growing autoflowers in an automated feeding process, the bottlenecks to growth become incredibly important. By this, I mean that any variable that could affect growth being sub-optimal will result in less quantity than is possible given the plant's potential. Light, or lack thereof, is perhaps the biggest potential bottleneck, so getting the full DLI to your plants every day ensures they put on as much growth as possible. And once you solve for the light bottleneck with a couple SP-3000's, you can then focus on secondary bottlenecks to growth like VPD, pH, soil health, pruning, etc.

I've run a few types of lights in my tents so far, starting with cheap Amazon blurples, to the Mars Hydro TS-600. Both are fine for a small small tent and a plant or two, but to really unlock the true growth potential of your autoflowers, I can't recommend the SP-3000's enough. I can even envision one in a 4x4 generating well over a pound of flower without breaking a sweat.

As for tent temps, the drivers stay remarkably cool and can even detach from the manifold for external placement if high temps are an issue in your area. For me, indoors in the PNW, when running at 75% they bring my tent to an almost ideal 78-79 degrees farenheit. I actually leave them on 24x7 to "cook" freshly recharged soil a few days at around 78 degrees before adding my germinated seeds.

The one piece of advice I would give out to get the most out of these incredible lights is to grab that Photone app, since most likely you will be dialing these down a little to match your extended autoflower light schedules. This is a GOOD thing, as it can only extend the life of the lights themselves, and save you energy costs along the way.

Two unequivocal thumbs up for the SP-3000. I can't imagine the results using their next gen bar lights!
I see your girls. They are pretty:growing:

#marshydroreview Well I have a little over a year using a Ts 3000 and have had some great grows. I convinced my buddy to switch to a mars hydro light and ditch the blurple lights so I bought him a Ts 600 to try. He fell in love with the results. Now he wants to expand his growing size this would be a great gift for him. Here is some of his and my results good luck to all
