Proof is in the pudding/peroxide use

Hey sorry I did not mean to intrude & will not intrude any further, I do believe however the proof is in the results & here is one of my grow & all have had peroxide here & there! WP_20140423_001.jpgWP_20140423_001.jpg and the roots are snow white! Sorry for multiple pics, it's the net here.

It may be nute stain and if it is maybe you're feeding them too much. Your ppm should read about 300 to 400 at that age, IMO. I am not familiar with either canna vega or rhizo so I don't how dark they are. Here are my roots at 77 days, almost ready to harvest. I added Aqua Shield to every feeding and flushed with Drop Clean to maintain a nice root system. I know it's another added expense but money well spent.

I think will switch back to the canna start a very mild formula for small plants and seedlings for a bit longer

Hi BustaB - All input is good, I was told not to use it so I decided not to. I was told to use Aqua Shield and Drip Clean. Perhaps H202 Peroxide works better but I've never tried it.

[h=2]Product Description Drip Clean[/h][h=3][/h]House & Garden Drip Clean acts like a magnet, removing dirt particles at every nutrient feeding so that piping and medium remain clean. This gives your nutrient program a clean slate to work on. Furthermore, Drip Clean gives plants a boost, improving their greenness and vitality.

Aqua Shield.

  • Aquashield compost solution is a liquid compost solution for use in hydroponic systems and soil gardens
  • Helps balance your soil, stimulate microbes and promotes rooting with increased root biomass and length
  • Useful throughout a plant's life cycle in both soil gardens and hydro gardens
  • Assists in strengthening clone's root masses and offers the best chance of survival when transplanting

Thanks for he info, I had never heard of the Aqua before but will indeed check it out. I was taught about Hydro by a commercial hydroponics owner back in the 70s & to be honest I have never had reason to change what works although I need to keep up on current advancements, So thank you. I am on fixed income due to heart failure so most times I look 4 ways to get the job done as cheap as possible & I always have peroxide on hand & it has always worked. I think that due to constant replenishing of nuets solution in DWC may be the reason why it doesn't have adverse effects.

Hi everyone
so I dumped out the res switched back to the starter nutes
added 2ml of 14% h202 to the bucket it's all I have for now
and they have cleared right up crystal white roots again
my lesson is not to rush into things keep that res cool ph'd and ppm just right
res temp @ 19c
ph 5.6
room temp @ 23c
humidity 55-60%
ppm 450
will upload another pic when I come back from work today
thanks for everyone's help

I had similar brownness on my roots, rinsed it off started using dutch master zone and also by week 3 onwards the rhizo you're adding is less and the roots end up cleaner. I actually found that with mine I noticed afterwards that the really brown areas actually had like a big fat root in there that was stained

Ok guys
I know I am probably going to end up being the most needy grower you know
i have been doing some reading and it seems growing with led lights you need to add some cal mag to the res would this be a good idea or just leave it for now?

Depends entirely on your water, not your lights, if you have soft water or your using ro water then yep get some calmag and silicon in there, add a small dose to start and adjust from there as too much can cause lockout.
