Indoor First grow NYLD& Pineapple Express

hey dirt thanks for stopping in. no i havent started a full dose yet i'm using kiss method with maxibloom full dose calls for 1teaspoon but so far ive been using half teaspoon per gallon. started off at 1/4 when they were 18 days i think then moved up to a half about a week ago they've had 3 waterings with that. due for another feed on friday just watered them with plain water ph'd at 6.5. do u think i should start giving them a full feed dose? i had thought about it but being my first grow wasnt really sure when to bump up the str. as u can see the pe#1 the edges of the fans are curled up so i thought that maybe i was feeding to much so i hadnt bumpd yup the str yet. any suggestion on the pe#2 nto sure what i should do about that cause if i have to switch it to 12/12 kinda want to wait until i harvest the other two. or was thinking of just cutting it down and chalkin it up to first time grow.

I didn't communicate that well... your fert schedule looks fine, especially, since your plants have responded well. Does one of the ferts you use have a really high middle number like 0-54-10, or something along those lines? Something like that might help. If you're not already using something, there are things we can recommend.

From what I can see in the pic, you have buds on the pe#2 but they're small and undeveloped. Assuming that is the case, You might give it another week and do nothing to see if things pick up or add another bloom enhancer if you haven't already. Some pheno's are just slower to finish.

Like I said, I thought I saw small buds. If I didn't, forget everything I said and go to 12/12. :D

temp pic edited.jpg you can just see the tip starting to show a little deficiency here... phosphorus most likely..... bloom nutes.... just so you can learn to spot it early.

cheers Joe dirt!

hey guys thanks for all the reply's atm i have maxibloom its 5-15-14 i also have a bottle of tigerbloom but haven't used any cause i was reading kiss method and it seemed like i wouldnt have to add anything other than that. just tok another closer look at the P.E#2 and it does look like it is budding just seems like a week or so behind the other pe and seems like not sure how to say it but it seems like its forming buds dif than the other one did. maybe this is more of a sativa pheno. hopefully it wont be to far behind would hate to after spend 11-12 weeks on a auto. guess when i feed them on friday i will bump up to like a 75% str on the maxibloom

I use more bloom ferts than that. I use Tiger bloom and Big Bloom and I don't have any experience with Maxibloom to know if you might just be adding more of the same if you add Tiger Bloom or Big Bloom to the Maxibloom. You might consider adding some Beastie Bloomz (0-50-10) to increase the size and weight of your buds.

Keeping it simple is a good way to go, especially when you're getting started. It appears to me you have been conservative enough to add a little bit to your fert regimen. Just remember, and this is important... Never mix ferts directly together. Always add them to water. It's also very important to adjust your pH AFTER adding ferts to the water. Ferts will drop your water pH from a little to a lot, depending on how much you put in.

hey dirt thanks for all the advice and support, and yes i always do the ph after i add the ferts. one thing i have noticed is that my waters ph is high like 8+, and it seems like after a day or so goes by even if i phd my water it seems to go back up past 7+ so i end up having to ph the same gallon like twice is that bad?

It's unusual for ferts to make the pH go up. It's not unusual for ferts to make the pH drop back down some after adjusting but going back up is more likely from your pH up. It is more likely that you may have not given the pH up long enough to stabilize before you checked it the first time. What may have happened is that your ferts made the pH drop, so you added pH up and checked the PH too soon, before the pH up had a chance to stabilize. So, when you checked it the second time, it was still going up from original pH adjustment. I have heard you can check pH in as little as two hours after adjusting. But, I have had experience that indicates 24 hrs is a much better amount of time to allow for stabilization.

A couple things that have helped me, is that I bubble my water 24/7. You can get an aquarium bubbler at any pet store and they can be gotten for less than $20. I also got an extra tank, just for ferts. I use a 5 gal igloo for ferts, which has worked for my size grow. But, I also have a 25gal rubbermaid storage container that I keep about 15gals of bubbled, pH'd water in. That way, I don't have to worry about trying to pH the fert mix over a three day period... that puts too much wear and tear on my peace. :D

Since I add ferts every other watering, as suggested by Fox Farm, I only need them about once a week. So, I let the water bubble for 24 hrs+ to eliminate chlorine. Then, I add ferts and let them bubble for 24 hrs+. This gives the ferts and water a chance to stabilize well. Next, I take a pH reading. If I already know about how much pH up or down to add, I add it and let it bubble another 24+ hrs. I take another pH reading, and adjust if necessary. If you don't already know about how much to add, it helps to keep a log of how much pH movement you get by adding pH up/down in different amounts to different volumes. I use a dropper when doing a gallon at a time. One drop of pH up or down will move my pH around .1 (i.e. from 7.0-7.1)

At this point you have a few minutes a day, for three days, invested. So, you've still got four days left, and you should have the pH pretty close at this point. Most importantly, you're not working/worrying yourself to death. Just let it bubble until a couple days before you are gonna add ferts to the plants, and give the pH one last look. If it needs adjustment, try to put just enough pH up to get it to the 6.3-6.8 range.

I hope this helps. :peace:
