New Grower First indoor grow 1 month old pics+ questions

There one month old today. Smaller one is an auto Osiris and the other is a super skunk auto. How do they look?, this is my first indoor grow so cut me some slack Soil is organic Miracle grow (slim pickings in the off season locally) with Pearlite vermiculite and bone meal added. 24hr light cycle.
So my questions are :
Do you have to use nutes? all i've used so far is water from my buddys fish tank, which they seem to like.. only thing i can find is MG tomato food which I'd like to avoid. Don't have any local supply for anything specialty and if I order offline they'd be harvested by the time i got it. lol

Temperature? I've been around 75-80 good?

Is it normal to have leaves die like the bottom ones?

Rough Calculation Guide:

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

Welcome to the site dude. Shoot over to the Intro section and let everyone know a bit about yourself. There is a link down in my signature.

I see lots of potential issues with that MG soil. Plus you added even more stuff like the bone meal. MG uses time release ferts and just generally isn't the best thing to use with Cannabis especially Autos.

But we'll work with what you got. The key with MG if you're in that situation is not to over water. Every time you water it releases more nutes and drops your Ph too.
As said already they do appear to be over watered.

And what is that, mulch? Not needed really.
And wait so you're using water from the fish tank, like where the fish live? Hmmm, that's probably not best. Why not use the water from the faucet?

Well kinda got stuck with the MG.. But it is the organic mix atleast. was the best of the worst choices lol.. like i said there's no specialty stores locally so i was actually lucky to get the frozen solid bag of soil I did.
When/ how much to water? Reasoning behind the aquarium water is its already stable, unchlorinated, PH balanced water. Also read online the fish shit works as a fertilizer.. dont know how much truth there is behind that though. Our tap water here has chlorene added so i wanted to avoid using it
The mulch is there to help it retain water, i found the lights were drying the soil out quickly

The main problem with the MG soils, even the Organic, is the slow release nutrients they add. Coupled with the humus, composted manure and poultry liter they add, they are often too strong for autos. Plus you added bone meal, further upping the nutrient level. You can already see the effect of this with the way your leaves are curling down. Classic over feeding. I would suggest you give them a good flush to leach some of the nutrients out of the soil. Run three times the pot size of pH balanced water through the pots. So if it's a 3 gallon pot, use 9 gallons of water.

If your only source for soil is the big box stores you would be better off buying some sphagnum peat moss, perlite and dolomite lime and mixing your own.

No mulch, mulch bad. Wayyyy to much water retention for growing cannabis good sir. Even as a soil topper. What store did the organic miracle gro come from, if you don't mind me asking? Do you have a means of checking your PH? Aquarium water is a smart choice because it's ph balanced and has fish emulsion in it.. some people water with water from koi ponds and that's quite a bit dirtier than the water from an aquarium.

It would really take over a month to get any equipment!? You sure you live in Canada and not Antarctica?

It's a nice first go'round brother, they're still alive. You've still plenty of time to save them and improve their growth.

I got the MG organic from Home Depot, it was carefully stored outside so it was a solid brick of ice when i got it lol. Still the best choice i had, couldn't find peat moss or anything along those lines. I'm gonna lose the mulch tommorrow, only had it for a week or so and i even noticed it was holding too much water. They definitely seemed to like the tank water though, they took right off when i started using it. I know I could order online but i'm kind of running a low budget operation, something to kill time while laid off lol... Thanks for the tips gonna do some poking around here find some more info on flushing them out.
