New Grower First Journal! First grow Auto Ak47

Hello everyone this is my first grow journal. Im kind or late starting it because im already a couple weeks in so better late then never huh?So let me see if i can start with my basic set up.

What i Got:
Grow space is 2ftx17''x4ft high.
All reflective mylar inside. i built it myself.
Im using Apollo 180w ufo led
And a couple cfl to supplement light for the lower branches.
Im using Fox Farm soil 50% light warrior 25%happy frog 25% ocean forrest
General hydro flora series nutes only gro, bloom, and micro
I have a digital tds ppm meter, ph up and down.
ph test strips and test liquid
currently waiting for a new soil tester since the all in ones suck!
Oscilating fan for ventalation.
temps stay around 77-83 degrees

What ive done:
So i planted 2 of my girls on June 10. The first day of a beautiful journey. I Started 2 Auto ak47 from female seeds.
June 16 just lil ladies in the sun

June 18

my girls june 20 2014. ten days after planting

I started them in small 4 inch pots and transplanted them in 10 inch pots 2weeks later.

I topped one of my girls just to see what would happen.

They have been showing nice growth so far for being four weeks in. But i have a concern. One seems to be out growing the other very fast. The one i topped is growing faster than her sister. And some of the pistils on my girls are already turning brown is that normal.?

So this is where i am so far.
I like to put my girls out in the sun daily because it shines so bright through my window. But when they arent in the window they are always under the lights.
I just gave them phed water no nutes today i didnt wanna over do that. i think thats it so far. Hopefully this first entry isnt too bad. Thanks AFN!

Looks great man and welcome to AFN, it truly is a wonderful site! My advice to you is be careful with the nutes and the Fox Farm soil, it can burn your plants and drop ph pretty fast when you add nutes. I was careful and still managed to lock out.. autos are very sensitive.. mine looked fine until they hit flower and I fed em! Good luck!

Whats up Sike your girls look good to me.....A+ in fact ....:Sharing One:im a coco nut so my experiences with soil is 0...but i can tell you that Zach is dead on ...im subd up for this one and im sure some soil pro's will be peaking there heads in here soon ......i did see one problem .....:no:......those Newports ....il get back to you on that one..lol

hey AFN whats up. Girls still growing nice and healthy. im noticing a few pistils are fully brown. And a couple are half shrivled up brown. Does that mean she wont bud in those areas?

Cgr you grow in straight coco?I got a few bricks laying around my house but didn't know if I could grow in just pure coco. And those newports ain't mine man lol nah I don't smoke inside though

Update:
Just thought id try to update as much as possible. Ive came to the conclusion im on DAY 26 from ground break.

I watered my girls today with regular tap water. Since my soil was hot i watered her with my water ph at 7. hoping it would level out the ph. I tested the run off at first it was reading around 5 but as i let more run off the ph started going up. So hopefully i did something right. I saw a couple of spots with burns on my leaves today to.

But other than that everything is fine. i was looking for some imput if i should start feeding flowering nutes anytime some. Please leave me some feedback though. heres my pics for the day

UPDATE:

DAY 29
Hey whats up. Just another update. I got my oakton digital ph meter in the mail today. Super psyched on that. Now i can make accurate ph readings. I also got some general hydro CALiMAGic (cal mag).
They've been growing beautifully lately. ones a little a head of the other. I can tell cause one has lots of white hairs every where and the other is barely starting to produce more. It seems like shes barely transitioning to flowering.Im getting pretty excited though. When do they stop growing upward though? im kinda starting to run out of upward space. My Led is about 11inches away from the closest canopy. When do they stop growing up?


So i fed my girls today. half bloom feeding suggestion.Plus a tbsp of ca mag. The water was reading 6.3. So i fed my girls in 2 waterings 15 minutes apart. I captured the runoff from the plants in two seperate cupes. One runoff read 5.9 Hopefully thats not too low. The other read 6.2 so i was happy about that hopefully my girls take the nutes well with no lock out.

Update

Day 32.
Just another update. Everything seems to be coming along lovely with my girls. Cant believe im almost halfway to my first harvest and things arent looking anywhere near as bad as i thought i would be. I watered my girls today. No nutes just clean 6.3 water. Checked the runoff it was also 6.3. Im so happy its been constant since im using ff soils. So i ordered some gen. hydro liquid koolbloom to add to my feeding schedule next week. Anyone ever use that stuff?? i heard it really helps grow larger flowers. I also got some florakleen to flush also. Well i guess thats pretty much it for now. Nothing else i can think of everything over here is just unicorns and rainbows :gthumb:Heres some pics of my girls from today
