hey guys quick question, I was looking at how to test your soil ph at http://www.wikihow.com/Test-Soil-pH and then I looked at some ph testers/readers,,, what I'm wondering is can I use the ph reader I bought to check water ph ? it's a Milwaukee Instruments PH600AQ Ph Tester With 1 Point Manual Calibration,, I got off of Amazon ,,, I've never checked soil ph, and suppose I can just try it, but thought I'd ask. Thanks

ok from what i know you test the run off to test the ph, as this is my first i would ask other folk first.
With the seeds so far the red dwarf are not popping (gutted) i will leave them for another 24 hours, as for the shark and purple the 2 have started to sprout so pot up tomorrow

thanks gingerdevil :smokeit:
that really makes since, I suspect you are right, I've been at it a long time but I wanna up my quantity and quality, so I'm fine tuning my environment, you might try the emery nail file trick to scuff the seeds, idk if it'd help, but best of luck to you, I'm interested in the led lights, but they are quite expensive, I imagine when I can I'll switch over, currently 2- 400w mh and 2-4row 4ft florescent lights in my mother/clone/ veg chamber, and 2 -400w hps and 1 400w mh in flowering chamber, but seriously considering going all-out auto if they turn out like I think, I have 5 different auto strains started, just sprouted. good luck :) :smokebuds:

Well what a difference a weekend makes :booya: we now have 9 auto's all potted up and there climbing there way up. All i can say is WOW... i know this is my first but i can't get over how fast they have sprouted and how beautifull they look when there justy baby's lol i just didn't expect then to look so well so early.
lights are on for 20 hours off 4. 1 question i do have i'm using rhizotonic just now for feeding soil but should i spray around the plant as well? or will it burn the leafs?

When i transplant should i cover the stem under more soil? No. If some soil has fell away then top up to where it was initially.

Ok a wee update, the baby's all the lush except 1 looks deformed so might need to get rid, all my pics will be up tomorrow.
Another mistake i made but you learn as you go on please correct me if i'm wrong i kind of hope i am.
Do no transplant auto as this stumps the growth of the plant- Gutted :crying:
i'm still going to pot up and see how we get on. will have more seeds ready in case it all goes pete tong.
Next week will start on nutes see how they get on after that.

Some are more demanding than others. If you need to pot on then try not to disturb the root ball.

sorry for busting balls but a wee bit more info if you can, i just checked the run off and the ph is 5.2 why has the ph dropped so much? with the next feed do i change ph higher than 6.5?
