New Grower first time grower need help finalising my set up(pc grow box) and extra help from this awesome commu

You still need to let it sit out for 24 hours and leach the chlorine off. That kills plants!!! As far as feeding guide, which ever nute line you choose, start at 1/4 strength and work your way up. Check the search bar with said nutes and see if someone has a feeding schedule. As far as when to water, fill you pot with soil and lift it dry, then water it and lift it again and FEEL the difference. you will shortly get the water down pat when the pot feels dry. do that for a week or so, before you plant your seed.

Well im probably just gunna put the water through a water filter like one of the ones you use to make chemical free drinking water!!, do you know any good feeding and watering guide to when I should neut the plant etc!!!

You will find thousands of them in the web, but at the end you will have to discover your own one. You will create very unique environment in terms of temps, RH, light, soil, nutrients what will influent speed of growth thus water circulation and evaporating of water from soil with no help of plant.

The main rule to follow is wet/dry period, almost everybody uses that. And what I have learned from experienced growers here and around is - start dry. I put germinated seeds in soil exactly as it comes from Plagron bag. It is not really dry, of course, but far from wet. Then I use 20-50 ml water around seedling. Seedlings like a litle more humidity than bigger plants but water in soil make their breathing impossible or harder. But if you go this way, you have to be very carefull to give enough water when needed. And follow simple rule - less is better. Literally. It is hard to overwater big plant because she drinks like crazy andit is easy to overwater seedlings with small intake.

Frankly to say, I have no idea how I would start so small plant, be very carefull what you do because plant might go up without your control. If I were you, I would find micro grow report that I like and follow it without trying to be to smart myself.

So small plant will not be very thirsty and not very hungry so carefully with both.

Thanks man :),Yeah well smell will be a concern but I was thinking I could just get a carbon filter to put over the exaust fan,that sounds like a good amount what im hoping for really!!, ill try man I gotta get everything first do you think the nutrients Ive lidted at the moment will be enough or are there any overs I should include im in the uk and kinda on a small budget!

Get that filter working and tested before you even start germinating - its most important to get everything right. If you can afford to invest, this is the area to invest in.

In terms of of the nutes you have posted, I couldnt answer - I havent tried any of the canna range, but usually they try to sell you all kind of boosts allong with the basics. Most recently I have mixed a very cheap organic soil (all bits from B&Q) and use Biobizz Grow and Bloom (cheap 500ml bottles) to suplement with the odd mollasses thrown in. It was much cheaper than buying expensive soil and nutes; my signature has a link to my current grow which does list the ingredients - and if your not lazy you can get some of them at the pound shops to make it even cheaper.

I also use unfiltered tap water and apart from PH issues (which you get with any water type) I have had no problems; standing it out for 24 hours doesnt work as we use chloramine in the UK water supply which does not evaporate like chlorine - in fact standing it open will evaporate water and increase the concentration of chloramine. Some people do like to bubble it for 24 hours which will oxygenate - but that costs extra and is non stealth, so I didnt go down that route.

okay, so I lied my signature goes to the wrong grow; this is my current organic grow https://www.autoflower.org/f44/cheap-organic-grow-journal-starter-kit-25015.html

Thankyou soo much guys you are really helping me!!!!, as far as secoundary neuts go are there any vital ones that will help stop defincencys preferably cheap that I could get at b&q, will low wattage cfls do aswell for the entire grow as the guy I bought the box of said they should be fine?

Overwatering is my downfall currently. It seems like I just can't help myself. Restraint is the key here, and patience, too! Good luck with your grow!!!

Yes there are loads :) If you go organic you can mix your soil appropriatly so it contains everything. I put powdered egg shells in my soil and feed with epsom salts and molasses once every 2 weeks; egg shells are free if you eat eggs and the epsom salts you can get for a £1 from any chemist (they are used to treat constipation), molasses costs around £4 (black treacle) - this gives me a good range of micro nutrients. If you insist on the chemical route, there are loads of supplements but it gets expensive. However the main contributer to defficiencies is PH - so get that right first.

Have I converted you to organics yet? :)

What are you considering as low wattage? I have heard of PC grows with 30-60w (actual watts) but more is always better providing you can dump the heat.

My soil mix (10l);

My feed;

Also a big tip for keeping the cost down (expecially for micro grows) is to always ask your local hydoponic store if they have any samples. I do this every time I am in there and have got everything from full sample nutrients to organic root and bloom stimulants.

Vvery helpfull man, well im buying an organic soil pre made so I guess ill buy those main sub nutrients and I should nearly be set!!!, do you have any tips to making sure I get a good harvest and also will I be better off growing one plany or two?

If i can advise you to use formulex - it has chelated nutrients so should give you more leeway on pH problems.

As far as CFL's and especially Low wattage ones - i once ran about 600w of CFL over 2-3 plants and the bud was airy and just never seemed to develop any bulk to the buds. I had a big red 150w a big blue 150w and a 300w giant dual cfl - its like anything bro you pay for what you get if youve got the room - LED's far out perform any other lights in comparison to wattage - depending on how many plants your doing - ive seen 90w UFO's flower entire plants and they look fat chunky nugs!

CFLs are good for vegetative - very smooth slow strong growth - but for flowering i would steer towards LED if its a price thing - you'll get more for your money

Look on ebay for 40w LED Bulb - Then you can just get a narrow light fitting to put in the top - might be able to get 3 in there never know

ah i see well i guess i could get a higher wattage cfl wherever i go the general census is that things like light can vary between grows so i guess as long as i keep it healthy and a higher wattage it should be alright?, the box is kinda narrow cus its a micro grow so i guess alot less power is needed because the bulb will only be a few cm from the relfective wall?

The main advantage of mixing your own soil is that you know exactly what is (and what is not) in it and you can tailor your feed accordingly. Also if you get issues during your grow, knowing exactly what is in the soil helps. If you can post a link to the soil your going to buy we may be able to tell you if there is anything you need to add to the feed schedule or mix in. Also dont use chemical nutes with organic soil as they dont work in the same way and your wasting your money on the soil. The biobizz nutes I posted are organic and would work with organic soil.

On your second question... that is not an easy one to answer. I personally go for one plant in the biggest low profile pot thats fits and then use LST to bend+tie the branches to create a flat even cannopy which maximises the use of light. Others I have spoken to use more plants in 1 liter pots so they get root bound and dont grow tall - this is probably a micro version of SoG. I also went for the bigger pot as it retains more water and hence less time watering it, with the really small pots it can get to watering twice a day.

In my micro grows I managed to get 120w made up of four 30w CFL's - but it did get really toasty and had to have the extract fan on fairly high... still managed just over an ounce with it though.
