Hi all,

As the title implys i am a first timer and looking to learn from mistakes. My first auto lady seems to not be doing to well and I'm looking for advice on how to avoid a misshap like this again form below for info and a quick pic for identification. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem: blotchy discolouration around veins on leaves started at around day 5 before first feed on day 7 doesn't appear to be stunting growth but doesn't seem healthy.

-Medium/grow method: soil; plain magic +

-Feed and supplements used: water for first 7 days had one feed of terra Tripart micro , gro & bloom recommended amounts halfed as per info from another farmer

-Water source: tap left for a few days open in 7gal container ..... TDS 614 reading; 6.4 pH using growth tech. pH down.

- phoenix Seeds Big Yeild Auto

-Climate: 74°F night and 75°F day with 55% - 60% humidity.

- Light used: 100W LED Viperspectra p1000 following manufacturers guides young seedling 23" 60% moved up to 19" max power.

-Additional info: possibly underwatered at the start of life due to inexperience, is this the cause?

Full disclosure, I am NOT an experienced grower, however, I have a plant that has the same issue. Research the term variegated leaves. I was about to make adjustment early on when someone told me to wait a couple days and observe. Glad I did.
This is her at 30 days.

Ah ok, yes have done some reading into this and im hoping this could be the cause as it doesn't appear to be effecting the plant in any way growth wise, they were on the cheaper side for seeds as I didnt want to mess up on expensive seeds. I have 4 more so annoyingly I only popped one so cant cross reference. Thanks for the advice, its a pretty big learning curve

I think she will be fine. If you see The leaves getting worse something is wrong but I think like they said it will grab nitrogen and become greener. Just wait a few days. Also that might be a high ppm unless you added stuff to the water. But I'm not an expert I don't do pH or tds my water is to low to have to worry about it

+1 on genetics. She might be a bit hungry, but the variegation may be normal for this plant.

Good luck with her. :pighug:

Thanks for all the info! Really appreciate the help. Il leave her as is to get a bit bigger and see what transpires.

hahah, see what 'transpires,' lol...I love it, leaf puns, you're too funny!

Also check out Tobacco Mosaic Virus and Hops Latent Viroid pictures for comparison. I also suspect it's just genetic variegation, but those are two other causes of weird leaf traits that can appear very early in a plant's life.
