Touch wood i have not yet had to flush for remedial purposes however i realize at close to harvest time we do need to do this. My question is this, if I did have to flush to cure a nute build up would that not cause over watering issues such as root problems leading to poor nute and oxygen uptake ?

Would it not be the same at final preharvest flush, though at that late stage i would think the issue would not be as important

ahh i see, that sorts out the final harvest "flush" which should be called cleanse, but what about flushing to cure a nute build up will that not cause water logging or at least over watering issues

What medium are you growing in?

I added in above that if you have good proper drainage then you should be fine flushing flushing. Best of luck to you.

I am in biobizz light which i think is peat, compost and some perlite. It is a fairly moist medium from start and seems to hold water well. maybe too well. I think for my next grow i will add some more perlite to it. I am worried that if i do need to add nutes in an emergency i will suffer from overwatering as the medium is constantly damp

What seems to be the issue that makes you want to flush?

No issue, just preparing for the worst, IF I had to flush in an emergency i want to know what the consequences would be and what to do if the sh*t hits the fan

As my user name would suggest "Utrinque Paratus"

Gotcha. Well when it comes down to a definite flush then that's just it. At that point that's all you can do. The 'hit' you take will vary on how bad the issue was at hand. Hopefully it won't come down to that, but if you had to flush you would want to at least make sure the medium was good and dry(or as dry as it gets) before flushing.

It shouldn't have any over-watering issues, not that are gonna be any worse that whatever's going on that makes you need the flush.

Let me know if you need anything else dude. :peace:
