New Grower G'Day from OZ. 1st time grower here going to use the Auto-Pot Hydro System

I'm doing plenty wrong and cost of buying gear and having it shipped to AUS is what's killer. Decided to go with the Autopot, that cost 250 bucks. Tent plus upgrades cost 500. Bag of coco and growstones cost 100 alone. 1st batch of nutes, THC brand (local) cost 100 bucks. Broken 600w hps bulb cost 100 to replace. 300 in seeds. 500 on a GN MS0006, other odds and bods that were unnecessary like clip on fans, an extra 100. It'd be paying for itself now if I wasn't screwing up my first grow with no PH meter to control conditions...overwatering, blah, blah, blah. Oh, 500 of that 2500 went into 2 vapes I plan to use to medicate...a Ploom Pax and Solo.

Wanted to try hydro to start, should have just gone soil to learn first. More money than common sense but once it pays for itself then it's all profit from there in meds. Plus it went on the credit card, hiding the funds from the wife who's a finance manager and chief accountant is the hardest part! She saves all her money, I blow all of mine. Makes me feel guilty...a bit.

It's not waste the money that hurts it's wasting precious time learning to get some fat buds. I could break even with a couple great grows.

I probably have $7000 in equipment stored. (3 300W LED, 5 90w LEDs) and a ton of grow boxes, ducting, fans all stored away. So many seeds stored and never can be bothered to restart any of my projects. Indoors requires too much looking over and I always have a "cbf" attitude. Atm my DP Blueberry is inside some $10 computer case with a ghetto fan inside it & a 28w light bulb (dont even know what kelvin rating it is LMFAO) was gonna get my smallest grow box but that's even big, 1.5m tall, cbf for it lol.

Spending money on grow equipment gets out of control pretty fast, at least it did with me. Now i don't use 99% of the stuff. I have like 5-6 bottles of nutes that i ever use and only use like 3 of em.

Ya the cost is a bit crushing, especially when you have to get almost everything and start from scratch! For me it's priceless, without growing my own I would be unable to have any. Well maybe once the dispensaries are in, but that's not happening any time soon.

Agp2 - day 12 still no vertical growth. Whats wrong with her? Bad seed? I haven't watered since she sprouted except for a few shot glasses of filtered water.

The drops on the leaves formed after being under the humidity dome. Transpiration?

Should really switch from Hydro to Soil based grows. Day 12 and that small, something is definitely wrong. A new seedling I just popped (DP Blueberry) is 2 days old and already nearly that size. Hydro really is working out bad for you tbh. Seedling looks stunted, could be a number of things. pH? Nutes? Temps? Medium? Lights?

Hey man im growing dwc have a look at my northern lights stayed so small for like 19 days and i mean really small ( 2 sets of really small leaves) check my grow, it came back strong and out of the 6 i sprouted its one of the three i kept.

Hey bro, I wouldn't use a humidity dome. Some people have decent luck with them but every plant I have ever tried under them didn't do so well and looked exactly like yours. I also notice you have her under the GN. I would pull her over to the side, out of the direct light of the GN. Looking back through your thread seems like you had a few cfls. Put her under the cfls for a week without the humidity dome and see how she reacts. The height you have, looks like about 20", which may be good for the older plant but it too close for the younger one. I think between the dome and intense LED you are stressing her out like crazy.

As for your question about transpiration, it is probably humidity, not transpiration. The roots aren't developed enough yet to be having that much. So, your RH inside that dome is probably near 100% and optimally you should be around 70 at that age. If the RH in your tent is exceptionally low, hit her with a fine mist of water a coupe of times a day just to give her something to drink.

Keep your head up bro, the greatest equipment in the world doesn't make a good grower, experience makes a good grower and no one gains experience without a few screw ups along the way.

I think A4 has the right of it. Pull off the dome. I use a dome because it's dry in my space I put it on when I put the seed in and keep it on until the cotyledons show and the firs set of leaves are just evident. I have done this all of three time, but it worked well those times. I also took them out from under the LED and used CFL.

Took her out to the side and took off the humidity dome. Put the 60DW under the full power GN. I might turn off the middle light but the 60DW is starting to flower. I had the previous AGP under 600w HPS at 60cm or 3ft and that did ok until I gave her heat stroke 2x. I haven't given full water since sowing the seed. I think the next grow will be part hydro part soil.....growstones at the bottom of the autopot, half seedling starter and half perlite. But I still want to perfect the hydro method and autopot.

Maybe the next grow will be just 1 photosensitive Kandy Kush and concentrate on 1 plant at a time....or maybe two auto 60 day wonders at once. Once I have the PH and EC meter I should be able to get the hang of hydro. There's a few good hydro stores in my neighborhood.

A4, you're awesome dude. Thanks for the tips. I had the light up at 3ft to start, then the 60dw started preflowering. I won't get much off her either but I think she's stopped growing vertically and I should switch to bloom nutes. The 60 day wonder is almost 5 weeks old now, still she's stunted. I've only been misting the Auto Green Poison. I checked with Namvet and his took 129 days to finish, I don't have that long to finish her until the next apt inspection so I might have to hide her or pull the plug on her early. I still have alot of beans to try, I used the AGP first because they were the cheapest beans. The 60DW was the most expensive at 15 bucks each and I have 2 left. I have a bunch of other cool beans....auto jack 47, DP blueberry (but im saving them for when I'm more experienced, I just need that one good bumper crop to last me while I do another auto grow.

Thanks everyone who's been helping me limp along. I'm not going to invest more into this project until I can get one good harvest to medicate. We need to buy our own house soon so I don't have to deal with 6 month inspections anymore.

My RH is usually around 40% on average, last time I used the humidity dome on the AGP she did well until i burned the shit out of her with chicken crap compost. AGP1 is still outside but not growing any more. I need to throw her away, don't want to attract any unwanted attention. I also moved the seedling out to the side of the LED but don't have any CFL's, only other light source I used before was a 600w hps that ran so damn hot I had to keep AC running 24/7 to keep temps under control. I checked out Namvets Auto Green Poison thread and his took 129 days to finish and he had to go 12/12 to get her to flower, so shit...I might just pull the plug on her and concententrate on that 60 day wonder and save the coco/pot for the next grow.

Still don't know what the hell I'm doing yet, lol. I'm glad you're doing well with your plants....even the one that Bob ate!
