Lighting GN Rebel serie!

the thing grow northern need to be careful of, is , although its great that they are trying to push the envelope and get to the best as leds can be, that they also need to be carefull not to push the tech out past peoples affordability, and anything priced 400 plus in the uk- i would think would be a bit too much for most people- although i am sure i could be wrong!!, but i would rather have the light spread of two ms6 instead of this unit, but hey like i said i know little about this stuff, also because unfortunately parts of there customer base are based in country's like the uk, where they would also loose all there grow equipment should the old bill come a knocking- anyways just my 2 cents worth- the lights do look great though

I see what you're saying, the rebels will be pricey to start off with, but such is the case with all new technology. Think of computers - you want the latest and greatest and you will pay through the nose - give it six months and that PC wont be worth a fraction of the price.
LED technology is advancing quickly (maybe not as quickly as PC's), but that's not to say the tech that we've been drooling over for the last 6-12 months isnt still awesome. The results speak for themselves.

Not really calling anyone out - I love the look of the rebels too! But i'll be super happy when my Ms006 comes and i can start getting the results like GN users are currently enjoying!

Just my :2cents: ^_^

Have you used the Rebel Series? I very much doubt it this is why I don't understand you assumption about the light spread. Having done grows both 2 MS0006 in my 1.2m2 room and 1 upgraded MS0006 I can tell you the Rebel has a better footprint, will perform as well if not better than 2 MS0006 and runs cooler.
GN have stated in this tread that its a non profit making exercise to make the best tech available to exciting customers,I doubt the new light they have just started developing will be much more than the current class leading Modular Series.
The upgrades won't be for everyone I agree but there are some of us that want the best.

i agree with what you said, and belive me i would love anything gn make and more so this new unit,

I'm growing in a .9 x .9 x 1.8 tent with 1 new ms0006. Do you think I would get better results with a second ms0006 or upgrading 2 modules in my current unit? 250 Pounds/200 Pounds. Or second ms0006 vs. 4 rebel modules? 250 Pounds/400 Pounds.

After using them for a few months I have nothing but praise for the Rebel upgrades so I would go with them bro,if you get 2 at a time you can gradually upgrade the whole light then you end up with something that will do as good a job as 2 MS0006 with half the energy and a lot less heat.

I'm sure this has been covered earlier in the thread but I just had a chat with Jeremy at GN and he told me the Rebel upgrades will be available at the start of November at £100 inc VAT per module.. torn on what decision to make now - would they just ship the modules out for me to replace or would I have to send my light to GN? Not overly confident with my diy skills but fitting a new module cant be THAT hard..can it? :D:

Good to know Tang man. I'm torn because it's a new ms0006 to put above my hydro girl or 2 module upgrades - decisions decisions..
