Mephisto Genetics Gold Glue, Forgotten Strawberries, Orange Diesel

@slowandeasy

Might have an experiment here that you'd be interested in. There was a link to a big thread on another site that was listed in my thread on RH and VPD and uptaking water/nutes. The author of that thread likes keep coco in continuous mode for water/nutes once they are past seedlings. And we know autopots do the continuous feed . So I have two diff strains going now where one plant is going to get the autopot treatment (and airdomes too which is not fair) and the other will be manually top watered. Any thoughts on that? Legit? Modify it?

Hi .. i haven't grown since i was a kid .. grew some nice photoperiods ones back then .. I decided to grow again since Canada legalized Recreational use.. and i heard a lot about autoflowers that i decided to start with them. I purchased a 4 autopot system because I travel for work and sometimes I am gone 4 or 5 days.. I have been trying to research for GH Series nutes which chart to follow Drain to Waste or Recirculating with this system. My plan is to grow in Perlite and Coco. Can someone help me out please?

What do you need help with? There are many here who can help you out better than I can thats for sure. Autopots are great if you travel. So thats a good decision. And pick some nutes - most are all good. I personally like Green Leaf because its so simple. Speaking of simple, there is also Tangs Simple scheduled (google it) based on Advanced bloom nutes that I also like but its more spendy.

Good idea to go with autos and to join this site and to ask for help! I would suggest you maybe look at an intro thread on that board as I am sure @archie gemmill will suggest. And then start your own threads with your questions. That will get you more and better help my friend.

@slowandeasy I started a thread over on Indoors board for all the plants in this grow. And I'll be comparing autopots continuous feeding vs hand feeding. And the ones on the autopot system have air domes. One would expect that autopot/airdome ones would kick ass.

looking great from here  nice fat leaves and a healthy colour.autopots are getting popular, and no wonder lots of good grows :growing:and a ton of info in the autopts section.
good luck n keep er lit.
:pighug:

Thank you for your response … I was just looking at some of your journals … I will definitely be asking for help once I start my grow.. I just ordered my autopot system and airdomes 2 days ago … Still doing research but planning on starting a grow in Dec.. I have to go away again for work so I don't want to start until I know I am home for a few weeks as I noticed that you have to top feed them for a 3 weeks before you can turn on the system … I been purchasing supplies for a few months now .. Just getting a few things every pay .. I am glad to hear most nutes are good because I purchased GH Series, GH Silica, GH Rapid roots starter, Koolbloom and Calmag … I am just hoping I am not over doing it in nutes .. So many to choose from ….LOL I purchased what I did because I want to give them a really good start .. might have over done it though ..LOL Now just looking for PPM charts .. Again thank you for ur response and I will definitely be starting journal and looking for help …

Hey my journals are not good man. My grows up to now have been pretty amateur hour. But I'm learning and getting better. Which you are looking to do too. Some people say I over think things but its the best way to go if you really want to improve your game. So learn, learn and learn. And expect some errors along the way. There are some very helpful people here so I would start looking out for their posts and hit them up with questions.

Did you get the 4-pot kit with the one pots with trays and valves? Comes in a big box. If you got yours in Canada, that is the best package the importer brings in. They dont bring in all the products either, like the smart pot version, which sucks. But at least you can get them here.

I recommend getting some Home and Garden drip clean to put in the reservoir mix you'll end up making after day 20. Drip Clean is supposed to prevent clogs.

These are some autopot tips off the top of my head. Some are mine, some come from others who already been down this path. And there is more info on the autopots board. Lots of info. Very valuable.

Get a good compressor for the air dome and you can use it to flush the lines too if they get any build up.
Use RO water instead of tap water.
Mix your nutes up a day ahead and let it sit and check the PH for drifts up and adjust if required. And get a digital PH pen with a good simple calibration.
Check your trays to make sure they have water every day. If you get a clog somewhere one way to catch that is to do the daily rounds and make sure all the trays are working and contain fluid.
If you have multiple pots on one res, get more of the shut off valves and put one in front of each pot so you can turn each one off or on. Its a nice to have, not necessary really.
Clean your trays and lines with something like water with CLR after every grow. And rinse well. And blow the lines out with air.
Get extras of the silicon bits for the trays. I lost a couple. And they are cheap.
Use coco. maybe 100% of 90% with 10% clay balls hydroton.
Don't mix heavy amendments in with your grow medium. Avoid the temptation to add things like earth worm castings. If you're using coco (Canna coco bricks are available in Canada and are nice -- you don't have to rinse them before use.
Also avoid using sugar or carb based nutes in bloom phase because they will clog the autopot system.
