I usually grow my plants out once naturally before topping anything. But if I know a strains tendencies, it helps. But my first round of a plant I like to train and not top. This will give a better baseline of what it's potential is with little to minmal stress and training .some strains benefit from growing naturally always . Some are not worth trying to manipulate or train. Some are worth topping. Some are not. I will say, topping is not a big deal on most Autos. It can extend your grow sometimes. But sometimes you can train much easier with the main gone. I have been busy, but the Forum Stomper and White Crack seeds I started last week will show people a technique I have employed. I will share. If you want to top a plant, usually the 4th or 5th nodes are good places. Unless you mainline.
