Hello AFN. First time grower here. I have plenty of gardening experience, and I am taking a mostly DIY approach to my grow gear. I have a plant science degree, and am starting to put that to work for me and get out of my old career in electronics. I plan on a large hydroponic operation in the next two or three years.

With that said, I'm still a Ganja growing Newbie, but a well prepared one. I started with a buddy handing me a tent and a 200 watt HID. The idea was simple, I have the know how, let's stop paying for weed!

I immediately tossed his little hydro kit, and built my own. It's running well for 5 weeks, and my plant is healthy as could be. She's in early flower, and I just added a VIPAR 450 LED, and since the stink is starting, I added a good exhaust too. The tent is pretty stealthy and quiet. Total cost for everything (half way into project) is about $500, but another $500 is about to get spent. They way I see it, it will pay for itself before two or three grows are done.

I am currently renovating another area for a 4x4 tent, and building a new DIY under current DWC/drip system with 4 x 8 gallon pots, and a 25 gallon res. A new 600 ballast for the HID light, and I think I'll be all set, with the ability to grow 6 at a time.

I have learned a ton from this forum already, I am loving all the great bud porn, and solid advice. It's good to be here.

I'll start bragging after a couple successful grows if they all look as good as this one. I managed to avert a terrible Ph fluctation (twice) fixed a light leak, forgot to temp the water on the second drain cycle, and it took three tries to get my exhaust hung just right. When all the parts for the next system get here, that ought to be fun! I have good drains in my basement though.

Thanks, I'm in an area of the USA called the "Bible Belt." It's hostile territory, where goons with cowboy boots and Elvis suits plot to put the next reality TV star in the White House. The good ole South.

Looks great. Good luck and always have fun. I am on my first grow as well and I have found out no matter how prepared I thought I was there are already things I would change and I am on day 30. Ask lots of questions plenty of knowledgeable people here to help.
