I have not got shade cloth and will not have it , Soil -- no -- I live in a remote area and can only get cheap bag soil , I mix about 30 % perlite with it , but I have been using it a while now and am happy with it -- have to be -- . what I did find and very important is the type of pot you use if you do . cooking the roots is the issue , black pots , I have probed 38.9 c in a 20 ltr pot .
lets call it black death , no more needs to be said . In ground would be far better , if not a thick walled pot or better still make them out of old pallets , that is what I will do next time , the wood seems to keep the soil a lot cooler , more so if they are hard wood pallets .
