Lighting GrowLab GL80 HPS + 2xLED too much?

Hello Everyone,

Question about too much light in a grow:

Tent: Growlab Model GL80: 2'7" x 2'7" x 5'11" (outside dimensions)
Light1: 400W HPS
Light2: 400W Mars II 5W each (Mars hydro)
Light3: 300W (3W)
Total Amount of plants: 4

I would like to know if this setup will be too much light for 4 plants?

I would want to know for flowering stage since the HPS is enough for the vegetative state.. correct?

Personally i would use the led for veg and if you wanted to add hps then you can. Have you turned all these on in the tent yet? 700w+ of any light is gonna kick out some heat.

Thanks the the answer. Why do you think its better to use the LED for veg and the HPS for flower?
I currently have only the 400W HPS active the other 2 LED's are off until flowering...

My question however was: If I get to the flowering stage is it too much light to have 2x LED's + 400W HPS at the same time?
Heat shouldn't be an issue.... LED's produce almost no heat

Hps spectrum is not great for vegging, not much blue to it. Too much light? I don't think thats an answer that could be answered easily. The question in my eyes would be is it worth the exra electric. If you have it all give it a whirl, i sure wouldn't mind knowing how it went.

Honestly I saw "THE KING" flower off of 1000w's. So yea deff go for it @Cyklos [emoji3]

How many plants? I only have 4 and a medium sized tent 2'7" x 2'7" x 5'11" (outside dimensions)

Just one The max is 3plants... Pushing it in my opinion is 2 plants per light. Better canopy exposure and atmosphere for better photosynthesizing[emoji3]

The reason why I asked is because I read somewhere that too much light is dangerous and can kill/burn the plant.
I was just curious if my setup would be too much...
How do you determine if the amount of lumen/watt is too high in your grow room? That would really interest me...
