Grow Mediums Has anyone used Coco in the 8.5 liter Autopots?

Thanks Slow. I believe in your way of thinking. Seeing your grows is what lead me to take a saw and drill to my autopots.
Yeah man, don't judge your first experience with those Autopots and sizes. Honestly, the strain is something you can blame for some of the issues you have. I do believe you will get better results moving forward.

I was wondering why you believe pH is an issue? It very well could, but just wondering you came to that conclusion? What to you feed now? Good luck bro

Btw, what type of Coco are you using? Are you mixing in perlite?

Canna coco. And 30% perlite. And a bunch of perlite on top of each dome. Next time I might just do 100% coco including on the dome.

My PH8 probe was giving me readings of 6.8 at times in the big pot. I'd PH the res water to 6 and the big pot did not change really. So I just pulled that pot out of the autopot tray and flushed it and then put it back in the tray. I think that plant is doing better now.

What are you feeding? pH and EC levels are not accurate in Coco and adjusting stuff by using those figures can cause more issues. Are you going to be home for a week?

I'm feeding pretty much the full line up from Remo Nutes except for the one bud supplement called Natures Candy. I have micro, grow (not during bloom), magnifical, velokelp, bloom and astro flower. I also add in silica. And Mammoth P. And Home and Garden Drip Clean to keep the lines clean.

And I was using pure tap water that is around 300 ppm and medium hard. Then just before I had issues I started to blend in some RO water with the tap water to keep the res from getting hard water buildup in the lines. I read that you will likely have to up the calmag if you are running coco with RO water.

I don't bother measuring PPM with this any more. Maybe I should do that again. I was for a while but stopped beause I thought the nute calculator had me covered.

And for PH I stick my control wizards PH wand in each pot every day so I can see what PH is at the roots easily and accurately. Then I use a good PH pen at the end of my nutes mixing and then PH down it to the 6.0 range and dump that in the rez.

I just start upping my Remo calmag (magnifcal) to be 1.5 times what their nute calculator says to use because of what I read about coco, RO.

Yes, I'm around for a week.

FWIW,
I think Remo runs higher pH in Coco. Also, I haven't seen many successful grows with the line up. You may want to seek out someone with Remo nute experience. It could be your mix causing issues as well. Good luck

Yo, I'm a nobody who knows jack diddly shit, but it's not all ppm's out here. Some additives will throw your NPK ratios all out of whack and could easily cause toxicity.

He does, but he has ran Coco in them before I consulted him on his opinion before I purchased them.

You using coco still? and how are the autopots working out for you?

I'm tempted to start a simple poll. Have you had an autopot fail on your before, yes or no, and see that the numbers are. Yes would mean a valve issue that caused a flood maybe. I would not count an issue like someone didnt setup an airdome right and that caused a wicking issue.
