Extraction Hash Making Questions

Hello fellow AFNers!!

As the title says I had some questions about making hash. I'm pretty old fashioned so I'm really only interested in making regular ol' brick hash. I read the easy guide to making hash pinned thread and found it very valuable, kudos to the OP. I just had some more questions for the experienced hash makers out there.

1) How should I prepare buds if I'm using them? Just dried and frozen like the trim? Do I need to break up/grind the buds at all?

2) What are the benefits to freezing the buds/trim before dry sifting? Is it advised to do this step?

3) I have a Trim Bin, which uses a 150 micron screen and I picked up a medium sized hash box with a 150 micron screen as well(all I could find), will these sufficiently do the job? Should I try to find a smaller screen size? Recommendations on where to find said screens?

I think that's it... I'm sure I'll think of more.

sorry i read this earlier then forgot what i was doing.
1 kinda depends if going for quality or quantity.
2 if you in a real warm humid place trichs will soften at room temp go gooey.i prefare just cold.but im in a coolish climate so that makes it easy for me.
3 1 screen will get you 1 grade of hash/2 will get 2 etc. i have 5 but really not needed unless you like to play about a lot.
where to get ? i think you may be over the pond from me,i got mine on ebay shootthemoon is the shop dont think they deliver usa.
1 screen is fine to get the job done.do lots of quicker runs rather than 1 long run.quick runs the quality will drop off each run,but first few will be fire.if its quantity then just go for hours.
sorry not a lot of sense made i expect,but enough to get you started.

Thanks for the input. That clears up a lot thanks mate. What about if I'm using buds? Should I grind them up and/or break em apart at all?

This too will depend on what product you are trying to get/which method you are using.. For eth extracts i chop the bud to medium.. For bho extractions i chop or grind a bit finer... With old school hash. I think you just need a field full of low grade , some burlap and a broomstick??

i losely break by hand play about on the screens,scoop everything up put in piles.maybe not grade A,but its my grade A
then stick in through the grinder and do the same.
1st run will be top quality but less yield,2nd bit less quality but better yield.
can do the same process over and over again,less quality more quanity.
grades abcdefg...or can just do one large run.all depends

Bro, I use a Panty Hose, a Jello Mold, a large bowl (glass or ceramic) and a meat cleaver. Trim or flower either one if the nugs are big just cut them up a bit, let everything get completely dry I usually let my trimmings dry in a shoe box or something cardboard then once it is dry put it in the freezer for 2 days. Then proceed to take it out and beat the hell out of it with the meat cleaver lol, I usually run it 2 or 3 times but I always have got really good results and strong hash, Cheers
