New Grower Healthy Plants, but weird splotches

My last full grow did develop very low soil PH about 35 days in. At that time, my meter showed them at 5.5 PH. So although it may not be accurate, it at least alerted me to low PH. I have some PH up but the last time I used it I think I used too much at a time and stressed my plants too much, because they hermied on me. Still harvested and smoked, but I'm hesitant to use it unless I absolutely need too. The bottle gives a recommended amount at 25 gallons (its for fish tanks), so it's really hard to get a precisely accurate amount.

Also, I do have PH test strips (old school) but I'm not sure how the BB and TB does or will affect the reading they provide. I haven't used them for this reason.

I really like this forum. You guys are super knowledgeable and helpful, and it's dedicated to auto flowers so that's a plus!

The next time you feed/water, capture some of the run off and test it with the strips. Even with the nutrients you should still be able to get a descent reading. While they also aren't as accurate as a digital pH meter, they will at least give an indication of how accurate your soil meter is.

I watered with nutrients today and used the strips. I took the reading at 30 seconds and they looked pretty on par with what the meter was saying according to the color chart.

I figured you guys might be interested to see how they are doing?

They're at day 31. I watered with 1/2 strength TB and full strength BB yesterday. They (IMO) are looking pretty fantastic. BTW those issues that I originally posted about have not come back and seems to be an irrelevant issue. I keep my plants a little further from the light and have not seen the weird splotches anymore. I still am seeing redding/purpleing fan leave stems, doesn't seem to be spreading as much since I've upped the TB strength. (Though this could just be in my head). My PH seems to be ok, with what I have to work with on measurement.

My question is, since I'm already at half strength TB, should I keep increasing the dosage slowly or keep them where they are at? So far (after 24hrs) I'm not showing any signs of nute burn. How do I know when I should increase the amount without worrying about nute burning them? Like I say, they seem to be taking it up with no burn so far. Also, I'm feeding at every watering currently, which I know is more frequent than the recommended every other watering. That's why I'm wondering if I should still add nutes next watering, if so should I stay at 1/2 strength, or increase the amount of TB?

So I'm actually thinking I'll do a good flush next watering, as I have not flushed the soil at all yet this grow. Then the watering after that I'll bump up the TB to 3/4 strength and go from there. Unless someone has a better idea?

Also, can I get a good reliable PH meter for under $50? Any recommendations for when I have some funds to get one?

The CWP A8 is highly recommended, and works great, and comes in right at $50 plus change, no shipping, from Hydro Galaxy

Yeah I've also heard a lot of good things about that one! Thanks for stopping by my thread :).

less is more.if they look good stay there.dont go past 1/2 strength trust me.that white widow is not a very heavy feeder.the red fan leaf stems could be mag nitr phos or potash.better to be under fed than over and ocean forest should have fed them till round now so honestly I think u might be givin them too much right now.i would just give ph water on next time.with fox farm products its better to feed water feed or even feed water water.but that's my opinion.good luck bro

Thanks for your help, both on this thread and PM.
So I think it's probably agreed that I should go with no nutes and do a good flush next watering (tomorrow probably). After that I'll start an alternating feed regime (nutes/water/nutes/water). You don't think I should go any more TB then what I've been feeding?
