Thank you everyone for the welcomes..just a little info on me. I am 37 yrs old, retired army, and I have had 6 spinal surgeries to fuse 9 discs.. i suffer from DDD, atrophy, peripheral neuropathy, and a couple of other things I can't spell lol... i am in pain every day and doctors put me on just about every high level narcotic you can think of... the strongest was probably the 75 mg fentanyl patch. Even with all the drugs I am still in alot of pain every single day and the drs have said that I will probably be in a wheelchair before I turn 45.... well, I am on pain until I smoke up.. lol.. the narcotics screw with my body and mind in ways that can't be healthy and yet they never stop the pain, they simply make me not care that I am in pain...But 3-4 puffs on a joint and I'm actually pain free for at least a few hours. My problem is that I live in a state that hasn't legalized the medical use..yet.. we have a bill that is supposed to come up this year. But until then, after seeing the dramatic effect on my pain level, I have decided to screw the law and grow my own..nothing extravagant...just 1-2 plants and something that can be easily hidden..i have a wife and 2 kids and one of my kids is in high school so I'm sure you can imagine the need for discretion. So any set up tips or specific strains that anyone thinks would be good to start please let me know.. as it stands, I am tentatively planning to go with 6 cfl's ar 100 watts (23 actual) each and use a soilless medium like coco, and as far as strains I am definitely planning to grow med gom auto.. i used to smoke weed when I was in high school, but I need to be functional so nothing that gives couch lock and I wanna stick with autos, so I don't have to worry about light issues and I can use some LST to help increase the potential yield. I have researched the hell out of this for the last 3 months. I just don't think I should have to suffer when a freaking plant can help me immensely. Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to give people a heads up as to where I am coming from and a little bit about me. Thank you for the warm reception and I'm gonna be checking all the threads and feel free to let me know of any advice or tips that I should be aware of.
